Whats a good thing to bring to a potluck?!

Question:

Whats a good thing to bring to a potluck?

Something cheap and easy

Answers:
I like to make a big pan of brownies. Cheap if you make them from a mix or scratch.
Another favorite is buy pre made meatballs. Throw some BBQ sauce over the top and heat in the oven according to pkg. directions. Then you can take it to the potluck in a crockpot to keep warm.

Mac & Cheese

you could make a mac and cheese casserole, or betty crocker scallopped potatoes, all cheap, easy and good.

coleslaw / cheesy potato's

Go to Walmart or Kroger and buy fried chicken. You can get like 25 pieces or 50 or 100 for a really cheap price and it always gets eaten. I always take chicken and I never bring any home.

Green bean cassarole, the canned fried onion rings have the recipe on the label, very simple.

I would make something unique, easy, and something no one else would bring.

go to www.allrecipes.com they have tons of great recipes and im sure you can search potluck and they will have good ideas of what to bring.

I would bring some sort of non-alcoholic drink. It seems like everyone sticks with soda, water, or tea, make something like fresh watermelon juice, or something.

Most people love hot dishes but avoid bringing them. Here's a hot dish for a crockpot that we've brought to parties with great success.

Beef Goulash

4 pounds ground sirloin, or ground chuck
salt
pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 large onion grated
2 teaspoons minced garlic
3 large green peppers, diced
2 - 28 ounce cans diced tomatoes, and their juice
1 - 16 ounce can tomato sauce
1 pound elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
thickener of flour & cold water

Brown the meat with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, onion and garlic. When meat is browned add green pepper, tomatoes and tomato sauce. Simmer 1/2 hour. Put meat/vegetable mixture in large crock pot; add enough elbow macaroni to make a full pot (approximately half of a one pound box) and mix carefully. Keep warm crock pot adding V8 Juice to moisten as needed (noodles will absorb the liquid).
