Can you make cupcakes using coffee filters?
I vaguely remember someone doing this before, just wondering if anyone has done this and what special requirements are necessary

haha i'v done it, i was making cup cakes one day with my daughter and i ran out of the cup cake cups, so i got out my coffee filters that i hardly use (not a big coffee drinker) and i cut them to about the size of the regular cups they came out just fine, and the paper didn't burn or anything, plus why run to the store if your in the middle of cooking when you got something in your kitchen that can help? hope this helps:)

Experience!!
I never tried that, but what a great idea, you could make a few bigger cakes, the problem is what would you sit the cup when once filled to keep it from opening up while baking? I think I'll try it though.
Why not...its paper just like the cupcake liners. Uhh...those would be some huge cupcakes. I'm not sure you could find a tin big enough to support them.
hi my name is billie how are you today. no it,s impossible. need more advice e-mail me billiegotmail@yahoo.com
I've never tried that, but I can see how it would work, if you're careful. You'd need to use the smaller coffee filters, not the 8-to-12 cup size! That would produce monster cupcakes.
Regular cupcake/muffin papers are impregnated with silicon or wax, so the batter won't stick to them. With paper coffee filters, not only aren't they coated, they're also very absorbent. The cupcakes will probably shred as you try to pull the paper off (when you're eating them). I can't think of a good way to lubricate the filters without also making them soggy. Unless you spray some PAM into the baking pan itself, and THEN line the pan with the filters. But in that case, you might as well just eliminate the filters completely!
yes u can make cupcakes with coffee filters the only problem is that they do not fit into a regular cupcake pan. i used a few small glass baking dishes to put them into and it worked fine. it does take a little longer to cook them because of the size but they r great especially if you are having a kids b-day party. i made them and let all the kids decorate them themselves, messy but fun. the alternative to making them that big is to put the coffee filter into your regular cupcake pan and fill like usual and bake that way. you will have alot of leftover paper on them but it works just fine that way too. have fun
Cupcake liners cost less than $2.00 /pkg and you get something like 500. they are available in any grocery store near the cake mixes. They last forever if you don't ise them. Do you need to be creative with everything?
Sorry-but l really cant see Why? you would want to do that- they are called "cup cakes" because they are a small snack cake to have with a cup of tea-so !!!!! any bigger size-is a cake-lol x
YUMM THATS A BIG Azz CUPCAKE!!
Well if you do feel free to email a cupcake of that size mmmmmmmmmmmm!
i dont think so
of course you can do anything you want to do and in whatever size you want but it may not be the smallest size you want it to be!
sit them(filters) in california muffin tins as they are largest size tins
