Beef Stock....do shops sell it?!

Question:

Beef Stock....do shops sell it?

If so, is it in dry form? I've not seen in in my local shop so im wondering where might sell it? Maybe a butchers?

Answers:
OXO is a stock, do mean beef dripping?
If so the butcher will stock it!

OXO Cubes are beef stock

Is this not OXO? I thought that was beef stock. It is in most supermarkets if thats what you mean in dried form.

It's always available in supermarkets here in Australia. You can get in the form of powder, cubes or liquid. It's usually near the herbs and spices or near flour/sugar section sometimes. Ask a clerk in your supermarket, I bet they'll be able to find some.

Dry form of beef stock would be boillon cubes. They are cubes wrapped in foil that come in containers that look like garlic salt containers. Also, beef stock or chicken stock or any other stock is sold in boxes at supermarkets all over. They hold I believe about eight cups of stock.

Make it yourself!!

Beef stock is sold in Sainsbury's and so are the "dry" type as in Knorr stock cubes and Oxo cubes for beef

You never seen or heard of the OXO or PAXO? adverts u spaz?

U can buy it from any supermarket, unless u live in albania and then it may be difficult!

Also commonly known as beef broth or even a consomme would serve the same purpose. Look on the 'soup isle' in your grocery store. You will be able to find both canned and dry version. You will also be able to find it in those resealable cardboard containers.

What about OXO cubes, or were you wanting LOTS of beef stock? Probably mostly bought wholesale by hotels and restaurants. Are you friendly with any chefs local to you who might get some in on your behalf, if you need like, a big tub full of the stuff? We use a range of dry stocks at our hotel and I would say most catering outlets do these days as it has less food safety risks than producing fresh stocks - also saves time so less chefs needed in kitchen.

Yes. It is in liquid form and in any super market. It is where the soups are. I buy it in boxes. You can either buy the broth or the stock, which comes in chicken, beef and vegetable. Maybe more, but those are the only ones that I have seen.
The box I just bought is "Imagine" which is organic, but there are other brands.

Yes.

They sell it in asda in the gravy section

You can get it in dried form as stock cubes - oxo, knorr, supermarket own brand etc. You can also get jars of granules, to which you just add water. Sainsburys certainly used to sell fresh stock which they used to have in tubs in the meat section - I don't know if they still do, but I guess this is a healthier way, as stock cubes tend to be very high in salt.

Take a hunk of good quality beef and double wrap it in kitchen foil. Weigh it and allow four minutes to the pound. e.g. a six pound lump wants 24 minutes. Turn your already heated oven up to nuke speed and put the beef in a large pan in the centre of the oven. After it has been blasted with satans breath for the full allowance of time, switch off the oven and leave for a full two hours - no opening the door, no peeking. After two hours take out the meat and carefully unwrap it, catching the stock in the cooking pan. Careful people will throw this liquid cholesterol away but no, keep it as it will be the best stock you will ever meet...
Tip,
Take a measure of the stock and place in a shallow pan, when liquid is hot crack an egg into it and poach the egg. Not the best thing I have seen on my plate but the taste can be likened to a nude angel nestling on your tongue - very dribbleisious. Serve with thinly cut new bread and best butter. The meat will be out of this world as well.............

Yes oxo do beef stock dry form however these contain alot of artifical contents. I would suggest trying a local health or organic stall for organic beef stock. Sainsburys has a fantastic range of organic produce.
