Question:

What it the right way to make spiked egg nog?

Answers:
Ingredients

* 12 Eggs
* 3 pints Heavy Cream
* 1 cup Sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
* 1 cup Bourbon Whiskey
* 1 cup Cognac
* 1/2 teaspoon Salt

How to make Spiked Egg Nog

Separate the eggs. In an electric mixer, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until thick and lemon colored. Slowly add the bourbon and cognac, while beating at slow speed. Chill several hours.

Add the salt to the egg whites and beat until almost stiff, or until the beaten whites form a peak that bends slightly. Whip the cream until stiff. Fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Chill one hour.

When ready to serve, sprinkle the top with freshly grated nutmeg.

100 percent old grandad ......now thats spiked :)

the method by Princess is pretty close, but as somone who likes to cook, I am always looking for alternatives. The tastiest one I have found is to use Rum instead of Whisky in egg nog. It is definitely not traditional, but it sure tastes good. Try it for a change.

The ABSOLUTE BEST EGGNOG EVER:
1 qt whole milk
1 qt heavy whipping cream
1 qt whiskey ( your choice, the better the whiskey, the better the nog!!)
1 dozen eggs, separated
1 lb powder sugar
Plenty of nutmeg

Beat egg yolks with sugar and then add 1/2 of the whiskey. Let set for 1 hr at room temperature. Whip heavy cream in large pot until stiff. Stir in milk, remaining whiskey and the egg mixture. grate a whole fresh nutmeg and stir. Whip egg whites and then fold into the mixture. Grate a little more eggnog on top. Best if you can let it set up over night, but it is hard not to dip in it!!
