Can you boil frozen shrimp?
I have a package in the freezer, and I don't know if I need to defrost them or not? I'm new at cooking, can you tell? :)

Absolutely, I do it all the time. I put mine (frozen) directly in the cold water. Generally, by the time it boils, they're done or almost done. Test one to see if it's pink on the outside and while all the way through. When done, immediately "shock" with cold water to stop the cooking. When overdone, they're rubbery. You don't need to add salt to the cooking water.
They're also good steamed in beer!!
Yes, you can boil frozen shrimp. Always boil just until they are pink. Are they already peeled?
yes u can but i suggest u de-frost it first it cooks faster
yes you can
My first concern is are they already COOKED?...
As long as they are raw shrimp, you can boil or steam them, although how ever you want to use them, you are better off defrosting them first under cold, running water. Shrimp typically defrost pretty quickly, and they also cook really quickly. Cooking them from the frozen state can make them tough and chewy!
I hope this helps!
And thanks for the shrimp craving!
Yes, and right when they turn pink take them out, let them cool, peel and take out their guts (Yuck!)
yup its better if you thaw them in the fridge the day before and then boil them until they just about pink which generally takes up to a half an hour defending on how hot it is.
