How to make brown sugar substitute?
I'm making some nestle chocolate chip cookies and just realized that I'm out of brown sugar. Is there something I can use as a substitute? I was hoping I wouldn't have to run to the store!
Answers:
You can get away with just using white sugar, but the flavor will be a little bit different. The cookies will still turn out, just might be the flavor is slightly changed. Otherwise if you have a little molasses, you can add a teaspoon or two to make up for missing the brown sugar.

brown sugar is white sugar and molasses. you could mix those two things together, but most people don't keep molasses onhand.
