Answers:
Soak it in coke ( yes soda ) over night, Put cloves all over it in row'. Wrap it in foil and cook it slowly at about a 250 degree's for a few hour. About 1/2 hour per pound enjoy. The butt portion in my favorite.

this page has lots of information about hams >> http://www.hormel.com/create/default.asp... and these people put out upscale magazines >> http://www.taunton.com/finecooking/pages... pages about cooking hams, with detailed directions. Hope this helps.

This is a pretty simple way to do it ... yours weighs almost 2 pounds more so I would add about an hour...

1 (5-pound) pork butt roast
4 tablespoons House Seasoning, recipe follows
2 tablespoons seasoned salt
4 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup water
3 bay leaves
Barbecue sauce of choice, for serving

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Sprinkle 1 side of the roast with 2 tablespoons of the House Seasoning, making sure to rub well. Flip the roast over and rub the remaining 2 tablespoons of House Seasoning. Repeat the process with the seasoned salt and liquid smoke. Place the roast in a large roasting pan. Add the onion, water and bay leaves to the roast. Place in the oven and cook for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until thermometer reads 170 degrees F. Let meat cool for a few minutes and then slice.

House Seasoning:
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder

I hope this helps!

Criss cross the skin with a sharp knife 12mm apart and rub with salt
At each junction press in a whole clove
Place in a roasting dish and put in a pre-heated 180C oven for 30 minutes, and the reduce the heat to 165c.
A 2.7kg leg requires a cooking time of 30-35 minutes per 500g. You are looking at 5 hours cooking time plus the time it takes for your oven to get up to temperature and the resting time.
Add your vegetables when you remove the meat to rest and boost the heat to 180C again.
If the skin isn’t crackling, return to the oven and place on a rack near the top of the oven.
A roast that size needs at least 30 minutes to rest covered with tin foil in a warm place, which gives the vegetables plenty of time to cook.
