Can you roast carrots?!

Question:

Can you roast carrots?

If so , how long do they take?

Medium sized carrots?

Answers:
Yes, and depending upon the carrot and oven temp around 45 minutes at 190 deg C, but......

Carrots are quite dense and cook through quite slowly, so par-boil them in salted boining water for a few minutes to get them going in the centre. I like the roasted whole as they present well.

wash the skins dont peel as a lot of the flavour is in the skin

dont use olive oil as it boils off at a low temp use a vegitable oil corn oil or other flavourless oil and just enjoy the carrot taste.

If you want to keep the green stem on for more presentation appeal wrap tightly in foil to protect from heat - they look great.

I would not over season them either as the salt will draw out the water in them and make them shrivel the pepper wont hurt but will tend to burn so season them at the very end of the cooking

be carefull of sharp pointed ones as this can burn

Yes carrots roast very well as do all root veggies.

Peel and cut carrots into desired shape
season w/ salt and pepper coat with olive oil.
Place on baking sheet or roasting pan and place in a 350-375 oven for 35-40 min or until soft and golden.

yes you can it would probably take about 45 minutes to an hour

Yes! My daughter and I love roasted veggies--all kinds. For medium sized carrots, I suggest cutting them into 2-3 inch lengths so they cook more evenly. Lightly coat with Olive oil or canola oil. Roast in a flat pan for about 8 minutes--turning once at 4 minutes. You can go a little longer, but they will get too mushy and dark. Toss some small cuts of potato with them--it's a nice combo.

yes , and they are great cooked like that , same time as the spuds , coat with butter prior (carlic prefered)

OMG Yes! I'm all excited for you!! You can roast any veggie- makes it all carmely & yummy

Yes you can!!

But

Try this

Cook your carrots for 6-10 mins Then drain off leavin about 2 table spoons of carrot jucie then add two tea spoons of veg exstract and honey and simmer till your carrots are coverd in a nice sweet glaze!!

Trust me once you tryed it, then you know its the only way to av them!!!

Yes, I put them in when I'm roasting a chicken with potatoes.
If by themselves, probably an hour at 350.

YEs you can and it's better and easier if you cut them in half length wise twice making 4 pieces. ANd either put it in teh oven for about 20 minutes on 350. and to make it tasty coat it with olive oil or butter. Or be a man and grill them but keep a close watch on them because they burn easlily in the grill

Hi

i would blanch them and then coat them in honey and then roast them, very yummy

Yes you can roast carrots but you can't pea soup.

ROAST BEEF WITH CARROTS AND POTATOES

Peeled white potatoes
Yellow onions

Wash roast, then rub meat with Accent. Sprinkle garlic powder, a little Lawrey salt, a little tenderizer and black pepper. Place meat in cooking bag or wrap with foil. Put carrots, potatoes and onions in bag. Cook slow. Flavor goes through. Bake at 300 degrees.

1 1/2 lbs of 5 inch long baby carrots, carefully washed, greens cropped to 1 inch above top of carrot
1 red onion, peeled, cut into 8 wedges
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp fresh chopped rosemary, or 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
Garlic powder
Salt and pepper

1 Preheat oven to 400°F. Gently toss together the carrots, red onion, rosemary to coat with the olive oil. Lay out on a rimmed baking pan. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

2 Roast for 30 to 40 minutes on middle rack or bottom rack, until well browned.

yummy

Yes i coat mine in honey and cook them for about forty minutes or until tender but be careful as the honey burns.

NO WHY WOULD YOU. THAT'S NASTY.

peel the carrot, cut in chunks about 3inches long, put in an ovenproof dish/tin, drizzzle with olive oil.

Turn the carrots around, so that they get evenly coated. Sprinkle with Rosemary (dried is Ok) and put in a pre-heated oven, 200o, for 35 minutes.
