In a bowl place 8oz Sugar beaten into 8oz margerine until fluffy. Add 8oz sifted S.R. Flour.
2 tsp Coffee disolved in a little hot water with
4-6 Eggs, depending on size, whisked, and added to the bowl.
Mix well and pour into a greased baking tin and cook gas 4-5 approx 45 minutes.

Coffee cake does not have coffee in it. It's called coffee cake because it is supposed to be complementary to a cup of coffee.
Cappuccino Coffeecake recipe
10 ounces milk chocolate
1 1/2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
Heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degree C). Grease an 8-inch square cake pan and line with parchment paper; set aside.
Melt chocolate and coffee in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. With an electric mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract; beat well. Add chocolate mixture, cinnamon and salt; mix well. Add flour and beat until smooth and thick. Pour batter into pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until tester comes out clean. Set aside to cool.
Whisk together sugar and coffee liqueur until smooth. Spread over cake. Cut into squares to serve.

Coffee Cake with Coffee.
* 2 cups flour
* 1 cup sugar
* 2 tsp. baking powder
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
* 1/2 cup butter, softened
* 1 cup milk
* 2 eggs slightly beaten
* 1 tsp. vanilla
* 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
* .1 to 2 T. of Hot coffee
* Icing
* 1 cup powdered sugar
* 1/4 tsp. almond extract
* 3-5 tsp. milk
* 1to 2 T. of coffee
PREPARATION:
Heat oven to 375. Grease a 13x9 inch pan. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and lemon peel. Using pastry blender or fork, cut in butter. Add milk, eggs and vanilla and coffee. Stir well. Pour 3/4 batter into greased pan.
Top with blueberries. Spoon remaining batter over blueberries. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool 30 minutes. In small bowl , blend icing ingredients. Drizzle over warm cake.
Coffee icing
1 tsp coffee crystals (instant coffee)
1/4 cup milk or cream
1/4 cup cocoa powder
5 cups confectioners sugar
6 tbs butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Blend everything together until smooth and spreadable. Makes enough for a 13x9 cake
