Whats the difference between powdered sugar and regular sugar?!

Question:

Whats the difference between powdered sugar and regular sugar?

im trying to make something and it needs powdered sugar but can i use regular sugar and whats powdered sugar anyway?

Answers:
I just went to the cabinet and got my bag of powdered sugar or sometimes called Confectioner's sugar. It also has corn starch blended into it to give it that powdery texture. Regular sugar is granular and has a gritty texture. It is not wise to interchange the two because it can throw the texture of your dish off balance. Powdered sugar is not expensive and is sold in the same section of the grocery that sells regular and brown.
Peace.

regular sugar is granulated and has a grainy taste. I wouldn't substitute sugar for powdered sugar if you're making something like frosting because you will get the grainy texture to it. Powdered sugar is sold in the baking isle near brown sugar and you've likely had it before sprinkled on waffles or french toast at a restaurant--if you havn't you should try it :)

Powdered sugar is powdered. "Regular" sugar is granulated...and it says so right on the packages you buy at the store. Look in the baking section of the store.

powdered shugar is grained so tiny its called powdered shugar. and sugar is ummmmmmmm.............sugar!

powdered sugar is regular sugar ground finner and has added cornstarch.
if you have a really powerful grinder and add cornstarch you could try to make powdered sugar.
