Answers:
You can use evaporated milk for a lot of things. Sometimes I dilute, and sometimes, I don't. Here are some of the ways I use it.

1) Use it in gravies. For a richer gravy, do not dilute. You can also dilute 1 part evaporated milk to 1 part water OR 2 parts evaporated milk to 1 part water.

2) Use it in mashed potatoes (do not dilute)

3) I only use evaporate milk in my cooked pie fillings calling for milk. I usually use 3 parts of evaporated milk to 1 part water.

5) I use it in my potato soup and clam chowder.

4) I only use evaporated milk in macaroni cheese.

MAC AND CHEESE

16 oz box of macaroni
1 16 oz block of sharp cheddar cheese
?-1/3 cup evaporated milk
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 large bag (8 oz or larger) of shredded cheese (Sharp)
1 can cheddar cheese soup
1 egg
? cup evaporated milk
? tsp Worcestershire Sauce
Paprika

Cook macaroni. Cut cheddar into slices. After you cook the macaroni, drain it. Add the cheddar cheese soup, ?-1/3 cup evaporated milk and the salt and pepper. Mix egg, Worcestershire sauce, and milk; set aside. Layer macaroni, egg/milk/Worcestershire sauce mixture, cheese slices, and shredded cheese in a baking dish that has been sprayed with Pam. Repeat two more times. Sprinkle Paprika on the top. Bake at 400 for 20 min.

You can either put this into a large dish or make two smaller dishes and freeze one to cook later. I divided mine. The first half I put in a round 1? qt white Corning Ware dish. It was full to the top. The second half, I froze in a foil pan to bake another day.

Macaroni and Cheese

1 16 oz package macaroni cooked al dente and drained
2 13 oz cans evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. salt
6 cups shredded cheese (Sharp cheddar, Colby, Longhorn)

Mix ingredients. Pour into lightly greased crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours.

Yes, and don't dilute it.

Yes u can I have used it before when I have ran out of milk and dont want to go to Publix and get more milk.

Evaporate milk is "thicker" than most milk because it has some water taken out of it.

I would add a little bit of evaporated milk until you reach your desired consistency of Mac n' Cheese.

Good Luck!

im sorry...i dont know but i do know what its like to post a question and never get an answer....but good luck ; )

yes i do it all the time
