Is it possible to make a funfetti cake without the funfetti cake mix?!

Question:

Is it possible to make a funfetti cake without the funfetti cake mix?

I have a box of white cake mix and a small bottle of multicolored sprinkles.

Can I make my white cake more colorful by adding some sprinkles to the mix, or will it turn out to be a colorful mess?

Answers:
It will work.

not if you want the funetti taste...

Absolutely, I've done it!

The sprinkles will work!
You could also bake the cakes and slice off the top and pour a colored geletin mixture in and let it harden.

I saw this on the FoodNetwork's show "Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee"
Great show!

it should work just as well. i believe funfetti cake uses colored chips rather than sprinkles, but ive used sprinkles many times myself and it turns out pretty much the same way.

It should be fine

it will be fine as that is what is in funfetti cake...I would add it right before you pour it into the pan....and it sould be fine...
