Should you share cooking recipes??!

Question:

Should you share cooking recipes??

Answers:
I think absolutely, unless you invented something you are selling commercially and it would cost you business. Otherwise why not let everyone else enjoy something, and vice versa. I know I love to find good recipes, and I couldn't if they weren't shared. So only fair to share back.

I just think the worst is folks who leave out an important ingredient or give you a recipe you know isn't the same. Either give it or don't...but I always do.

PS Saw Jez's reply after I posted. Had almost the same thing happen but for different reasons. My Grandmother was an amazing cook but never used a recipe...she just threw stuff together literally. We are lucky to have gotten 2 recipes because my Dad wanted my Mom to make it, so she wanted a recipe, and my Grandmother would cook and my Aunt stood by and measured each item. Wish they did that for more. But don't give up cooking...tons of excellent recipes out there (thanks to people sharing) and anyone who can read can become a good cook!!! Just sadly not with your family recipes.

Yes. If someone admires your recipe, share it. Why be selfish?

Unles one plans on going into competition, or honoring a family secret recipe, why not?

yeah...why not?!?!?

It sucks, when I was little there were a TON of really good recipes that my grandma used to make...but she never let anybody help her in the kitchen....so after she passed away, we lost all of the good food!!!!!!!!

And now I'm scarred with being a less than mediocre cook!!!! I feel so sorry for my husband! haha

I don't see why not.. shouldn't other people be able to enjoy it?

sure, why not, we all like to eat good things.

It's nice to share!

If you have a tried and tested recipe it is good to share it with others as you can claim it works, and it isn't out of a test kitchen.

It always makes me feel good when some one wants one of my recipes and i gladly share.Cooking and baking are two of my favorite hobbies. Having people enjoy it is awesome!
