I would make stuff like baby shrimp, baby back ribs, baby carrots, stuff like that.

Congrats on the baby!

ohhhhh, so exciting!!!

I agree with the woman above with baby carrots and whatnot...

That was on an episode of full house back in the day, haha.

GOOD LUCK!!! AND CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

How about a roated rock cornich game hen, with orange cranberry chessnut stuffing. On the side, some mashed potatoes and any kind of other vegetables. Oh, and have some nice gravy on hand as well.

You can get the hens in most big grocery stores.

A nicely done steak is always a treat as well.

Well you should cook what he likes. Basic stuff a good roast beef and yorkshire pudding or mashed potatoes, an apple pie some ice cream and some good beer. Men tend to be easy to please with food, we're the ones that want braised foie gras in a red pepper coulis. For a guy just cook ordinary food but make it really delicious, add some rosemary to the roast and some cream and mozzarella to the potatoes and he'll be thrilled. Try epicurious.com for recipies.

Ditto the congrats. I'm a firm believer that the main element in a romantic dinner is far more the mood/table/atmosphere than just the food.

I think that was a really cute idea with the baby foods, but given how dense men are I'd add more to that. Just had an idea but first the table.

I'd be sure to set it pretty, oh I love this...set 2 bowls of water and use food dye. Make one pink and one blue, and get 2 flowers (often the florest will give you broken ones if you ask, since you just need the head). If you can find a pink and blue flower I'd float them vice versa, say a pink rose or carnation in the blue water. Blue is harder but usually there is something. I'd add a floating candle either white or same color theme.

For food I'd either go with the baby theme or maybe combine that with whatever his favorite foods are. And here was my thought. How about for dessert serve a jar of baby food??!! If you have anything you can cover it with and he could open that would be ideal. Then you can have a real dessert waiting. Or if you don't want to wait the whole meal you could spread some baby shower confetti on the table, but that would give it away really soon. I kinda like adding as you go.

Hope it's a magical nite!!!!!!!!!!
