What makes sugar cookies hard or soft?!

Question:

What makes sugar cookies hard or soft?

I like hard sugar cookies, but when I make them they always come out soft and fluffy. Any suggestions?

Answers:
The recipe may be an influence, surf the net to find a new one because maybe the one you're using is intended to produce soft cookies. Sometimes I get crispier cookies by overcooking them a bit, but by doing this I expose them to get burnt.
Best you can do is to search for a new recipe and try it over.

I like baking

You can make them hard by leaving them in the oven for a couple more minutes.

depends on how much oil or butter you put in.

Bake them just a few minutes longer! YUM!! I like mine hard too and this is the only way to get them like I like them! Good luck!!

You just need to bake them a little longer.

cook them a little longer.

BUTTER!!!!!!!!! too much oil in the recipe and too much time in the oven...will make them hard ... if you want them chewy and soft you have to take them from the oven sooner

keep it in the oven longer.

Adjust the liquid to shortening balance.
