Easy pasta recipes for busy college student??!

Question:

Easy pasta recipes for busy college student??

I need simple pasta recipes, with like 5 ingredients or less, that I can make in under a half hour. I'm a busy gal on the go so and not a cook. I'd REALLY like if the ingredients were things I could use for lots of items, not specialty items, but any suggestions are appreciated.

This is kinda my cheap way of making lasagna. :)
Take elbow noodles (mac and cheese shaped) and boil till cooked. Mix with spaghetti sauce. Sprinkle your favorite cheese on top. Eat as is
or...Put it all in a cassarole dish and sprinkle some more cheese on the top. Bake in the oven on 400F for about 10 minutes, or untll the cheese melts!

stir in a can of tomatoes.add herbs to taste.simmer for 15 mins, add to pasta, sprinkle with grated cheese.

serve with crusty bread!

That is easy, Boil pasta drain add some butter salt and pepper and a little garlic powder. Yummo...

Campbells Cream of Mushroom or chicken soup, any kind of pasta, and frozen peas & carrots.

Cook the pasta, & about 2 minutes before straining the pasta, throw in some frozen vegetables. While you're straining the pasta & veggies, heat up the soup. Throw in the pasta & veggies, and you've got a good, hot meal. You can also add canned tuna, chicken, or ham into the soup for some protein. Canned soups have alot of sodium so opt for the low-sodium types, it'll be better for you!

Macaroni & Cheese - Diner Style

1 pkg elbow macaroni (8 oz)
2 tablespoon butter or regular margarine
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
12 oz cheddar cheese spread
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Prepare the macaroni in a large saucepan according to the directions on the package. Drain and return to the saucepan to keep warm.

Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter add the onion and chopped green bell pepper and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp tender. Remove from the heat; add vegetables to the macaroni in the saucepan along with the cheese spread, shredded cheese and hot red pepper sauce, if desired. Toss until well mixed.

Spoon the mixture into a 2 1/2-quart casserole and bake 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

Less than 5 mins. Spicy Mac and Cheese Casserole in a cup to go...
Macaroni and Cheese the one you just add the water. I use two packages at a time and only 1 1/2 of the cheese mix)
Tuna (if you don't like tuna you can add chicken or ham instead)
Spicy Sauce (in Asian food aisle usually near the tuna and mac/cheese) Clear Bottle w/ red sauce you squeeze.
frozen peas or broccoli
ground pepper
Cook Time is like 3 mins. in microwave
All you do is get a large plastic style cup make your mac/cheese then add the cheese packet, your tuna, some spicy sauce(to taste), and the peas stir it all up heat a little bit more like 30 sec. and you have a meal you can eat on the go. Add some pepper and you have your protein, your veggie, carb and your calcium all in one cup.
Inexpensive too

get the garlic in a jar, that is always a pasta staple. and tomatoe sauce is always cheap and you can jazz it up to make it more "you". there is always the butter, galic, salt pepper and parmisan that is great! If you want something out of the ordinary get the bell pappers and onions from the frozen section (they are mixed and precut) sautee with some garilc and you could even throw in some cut up smoked sausage and there is a great meal. And that is good on rice or potatoes too. If you like tuna you can make a simple sauce with cream of mushroom and flakes tuna.Or just put the tuna on over lightly oiled pasta a little salt and pepper. Pretty much if you can eat it, it can go on pasta. Good luck in your studies!

Well, if you can find it there was a cookbook done pretty much specifically for college students that was about recipies you could do with Ramen soup packages. That could help.

Something I might try if I could afford it were I you would be to pick up some Ramen (or similar brand) soups, a jar of pesto, and some shrimp. Take the Ramen noodles and cook them, but don't add the flavor packet. Also boil the shrimp if their not pre-cooked. Then drain the noodles, add a little of the pesto (say no more than a spoonful or two), and shrimp. Toss so the shrimp and noodles get covered with the pesto. Kinda a fast shrimp scampi-like dish.

You could also use other noodles like liguini or spagheti, but I think the Ramen noodles cook in like three to five minutes, maybe a little more or a little less. Still, tends to be faster than the others.

Mac and Cheese for the basic ingredient you can ad hamburger, ham or any thing else, other that that any of the noodle/rice instant or quick cook things can be used. Here;s one I have used angel hair paste, scrambled hamburger and cream of chicken soup, fast easy, cheap and actually pretty good.

I do not know if you're looking for nothing more than pasta with herbs and seasonings or if you have a broad taste. If you try your best to have a certain amount of servings from the food pyramid then I would suggest that you try Chicken 'N' Tortelloni Alfredo.

I am going to leave the tortelloni flavor up to you, because I once made it with Portabello mushroom tortelloni and my sister was not crazy about the flavor. I then made it at a later date with five cheeses flavored tortelloni and my sister enjoyed the dish.

The prep time is 10 min. The total time to make the meal should be no more than 20 min. The measurements given should serve three people.

INGREDIENTS
1 package (9 oz.) Di Giorno tortelloni

2 cups broccoli florets

6 oz. of grilled chicken breast strips (you may buy these pre-cooked and packaged or manually cut the chicken breast and grill or fry it yourself)

1 pkg. (10 oz.) Di Giorno Alfredo Sauce

DIRECTIONS
Rinse your brocolli out well, and break into large, bite-sized florets.

Cook pasta as directed on package.

Bring 3/4 to 1 inch of water to a boil in a saucepan with a steamer. (Note that if you do not have a steamer, you can simply put the broccoli directly into an inch of boiling water.) Add the broccoli to the steamer and cover; reduce heat to medium and let cook for 6-7 minutes. The broccoli is done when you can pierce it with a fork. But be careful not to overcook the broccoli. As soon as it is pierce-able, remove from heat.

While pasta and brocolli are cooking, prepare chicken breast strips to your liking. When strips are ready, mix chicken breast strips and sauce in saucepan; cook on medium heat 5 minutes or until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Drain pasta; place in large bowl. Add broccoli and chicken mixture; toss to coat.

NOTE
You can steam the broccoli in advance if you believe that you may be overwelmed. Cooked broccoli should be covered and refrigerated. Use within three days.

SUBSTITUTE
Di Giorno Alfredo sauce for marinara sauce or sauce of your prefrence.

1 ball of Mozzerella cut into small cubes.
4 roma tomatos diced
4 basil leaves thinly sliced

Small pasta is better.

Boil pasta.
Drain. Save a cup of water.
Off heat add mozerella, basil, tomatos, salt & pepper.
mix it all together, the pasta should be hot enough to slightly melt the cheese and if you need to thin it out just a little bit at a time - add water. but it is not a saucy dish.
eat & enjoy!

Cheater's Lasagna

1 lb. Italian sausage

1 pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese

Place frozen ravioli in a 9 x 9 baking dish. (yep, frozen)

Cook italian sausage until it is not longer pink, drain if you want. Pour spaghetti sauce over the sausage, heat to boiling. Pour the sauce/sausage over the ravioli, cover and bake at 350 for about an hour. Remove from oven, uncover and sprinkle with the cheese. Put back in oven until cheese is melted.
