Spiced Cherries & Pecans

Ingredients:

2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon margarine or butter melted
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 dried oregano, crushed
3 cup pecan halves
1 1/2 cup dried tart cherries

Instructions:

Stir together the first 7 ingredients. Add pecans, tossing to coat.

Put mixture in a 13X9X2" baking pan. Bake at 350F. for 15 mins.; stir every 5 mins. Stir in cherries. Bake for another 5 mins. or till pecans

1 1/2 c Water
1/2 c Sugar
1 1/2 tb Cornstarch
1 t Lemon Juice
2 ts Rum Extract
2 c Fresh Dark Sweet Cherries
3 Drops Red Food Coloring

This is a good sauce for Ice Cream and other cold desserts.

Yield: About 1 Quart

Combine the sugar and cornstarch. Add to the cold water and heat to
thicken. Add the dark sweet cherries and heat but DO NOT boil. Stir in the
lemon juice, rum extract and food coloring.

NOTE: This should be made 2-3 hours before serving.

Fresh Cherry Waldorf Salad

Original recipe yield:

INGREDIENTS

* 2 large apples, chopped
* 1 tablespoon lemon juice
* 2 celery ribs, chopped
* 1 cup pitted tart red cherries
* 1/2 cup dried cranberries
* 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
* 1/4 cup mayonnaise
* 1/4 cup sour cream
* 2 tablespoons honey
* 1/8 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large salad bowl, toss apples with lemon juice. Add the celery, cherries, cranberries and almonds.
2. In a small bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, honey and salt until well blended. Pour over salad and toss to coat.
3. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.


Fresh Cherry Pie
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups fresh pitted cherries
* 1/2 cup water
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 2 tablespoons cornstarch

PREPARATION:
In a saucepan, cook cherries in water for 10 minutes. Mix together the sugar and cornstarch; add to cherries. Cook cherry mixture until thickened. Cool slightly before using to fill pie shell or other dessert.

1 (15 ounce) can crushed pineapple
2 sliced bananas
1 can cherry pie filling
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup Hershey's syrup

Mix cake mix and canned pineapple juice and all well.
bake in oblong greased cake pan.
at 350 for 20 or untill cake test done.
Cool.
slice bananas on top of cake, spread pie filling on top bananas, spread cool whip atop pie filling, sprinkle on nuts and drizzle with chocolate Hershey syrup.
Slice and enjoy.

Fresh Cherry Cobbler

INGREDIENTS
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 cup milk
*
* 2 cups pitted sour cherries
* 3/4 cup white sugar
* 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place the butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish, and place in the oven to melt while the oven is preheating. Remove as soon as butter has melted, about 5 minutes.
2. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and baking powder. Mix in the milk until well blended, then pour the batter into the pan over the butter. Do not stir.
3. Rinse out the bowl from the batter, and dry. Place cherries into the bowl, and toss with the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour. Distribute the cherry mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
4. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the cobber should come out clean.
