Has anyone tried to marinade hamburgers before prilling them?!
Has anyone tried to marinade hamburgers before prilling them?
How do they taste?
What's the best recipe?
Can you use or is there a good recipe using red wine vinaigrette?
Answers:
Marinating burgers would make them "wet" and they'd fall apart. Bettter to mix it into the meat & let stand for 30 minutes before grilling.
You could add any favorite liquid, but you'd have to use bread crumbs or oatmeal to soak up the extra liquid. Better to use a spice or herb blend mixed in when you make the patties.

I just add Montreal steak seasoning & onions. You want to enhance the meat, not overpower the flavor.
i wouldn't recommend doing that. i personally, have heard people adding in worchestershire sauce to the meat and mixing it in, but i have never done this. i only season my meat with seasoned salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to my burger mixture. every now and then i do put in a little onion soup mix to the meat, and it tastes pretty good.
Jalapeno's, lemon pepper, worsh. sauce, and seasoning salt
For three pounds of ground beef, I make beer burgers by adding whatever seasonings I like, plus 1/2 bottle beer, a beaten egg and enough dried breadcrumbs, crushed saltine crackers or dry oatmeal to make the meat firm. I then form the patties and throw them on the grill. Really, you can add any kind of liquid you like, rather than beer. You can use red wine, or jack daniel's....whatever you like.
I wouldn't add red wine vinaigrette. Its too wet. I would just add onion, or onion soup mix, Worsh sauce, jalapenos (if you like them), and if you have a meat grinder, I'd make them 50/50 ground steak to hamburger. If you do want to add more liquid things to them, add an egg and some sort of bread crumb to the meat. It will bind everything together. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and mush everything together.
They would be too wet if you marinaded them add dry flavours ie; BBQ powder Are these burgers off the shelf or are you making your own.
I do my own Minced Lean beef {500grams}
Pinch of salt & Pepper
1 egg yolk

My brother in law used to put that awful Lawry's seasoning on everyone's burgers before cooking them. It's so salty. So after a while of eating salt burgers, I started asking everyone what kind of seasoning they wanted on their burgers. Nobody but my sister wanted it the way he cooks them. Sorry, I don't have a recipe, I just wanted to share my story with you.
