Homemade steak sauce, recipe, spicey?!
Homemade steak sauce, recipe, spicey?
I am going to a memorial day cookout. I am not a big seak eater but I don't mind it and they will be serving steak, I am a big fan of spicey foods. I was wondering does someone have a recipe for a very spicey steak sauce that I can make and carry to the outing. Another thing is I am not a big fan or horse radish and also tobassco sauce.
Answers:
What I usually do, and the amount is up to your taste, is combine catsup (about 1/2 cup), 1/4 cup worcestershire, 1 tsp. garlic powder and 1 tsp fresh black pepper. That's it and the taste is similar to A-1, it's a lot cheaper and it will take you two minutes tops. If you want it hotter, add more black pepper.
Here are some that might work
HOMEMADE STEAK SAUCE
1 c. ketchup
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 cup of onion, finely chopped
6 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup white wine or tarragon vinegar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 large whole shallot, chopped
1/2 teaspoon dried onion powder
1 tbsp liquid pectin
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
4 whole anchovies (canned)
4 large whole large mushrooms, fresh
Place all ingredients in blender container and process until smooth. Simmer in saucepan 20 minutes and cool. Store in refrigerator.
