How should you re-heat a steak?!

Question:

How should you re-heat a steak?

i just cook 2 steaks on my grill. i ate one, and put the other in the fridge. i dont think microwaving it would do it justice. how should i heat it up?

Answers:
I myself when reheating steak take another approach.... I slice the meat as thin as possible across the grain. While this is going on, I am simmering a can of College Inn Beef Broth.... Dunk the meat into the hot broth, arrange on an ample piece of fresh French Bread, cover with cheese if Desired (Swiss of course) and quickly broil in your oven.

If you prefer to have the steak as a steak and not a sandwich, let it sit out for 15 minutes to allow the chill to come off of it. This is also good practice for when you initially grill the meat as it will be relaxed and cook to more "true" temperature. In an appropriate sized skillet on medium heat quickly sear the steak again using a mixture of butter and canola oil. Use more butter than oil but be mindful that butter will burn if too hot. You could create a pan sauce by adding some red wine to deglaze the pan and then either cornstarch or flour to thicken the mixture as the butter and oil will create enough extra fat to mix with the flour and create a sauce.

Probably more info than you were looking for, but hope it helps and hope you try them someday!!

putting it in the oven, or convectional oven should do the trick

One thing that helps is if you bring the meat to room temperature. If it has been in the fridge (obviously) it is cold, and if you stick it in the microwave or oven at that point, the outside heats first and then the center (again, obviously) but by the time the center gets warmed, the meat is overcooked.

I would suggest taking it out of the fridge about 15 minutes before you plan to reheat it. Then, wrap it in foil and stick it in the oven (at a fairly low temp for about 8 minutes.

I microwave mine, and it tastes just fine. If you don't want that, heat it up in the stove on "bake."

well....you can juss put in into a pan and put the stove on a low heat for a few minutes until it is hot enough, or you can do what do and microwave the motherfucker!LOL

My favorite way to reheat a steak is to put it in the microwave in a zip-loc bag for about 30-40 seconds on high.

On queer eye for the straight guy, I saw the dude show how to heat up a steak in a frying pan. Low heat, or it will burn. YUM!

Let it get to room temp first then cook it in a fry pan on low/med. And if you have a George Forman grill it works even better!!!

Heat cast iron frying pan to sizzle after cutting steak into strips. throw in oil, brown as in stir fry...add to whatever...vegetables...eggs, (as in steak and eggs) to top a pizza or spagetti or casserole, to stuff in a sandwich. Or chop it fine, add a mixture of catchup, mustard and worchestershire sauce as a dip. Or heat up some boullion and make a beef dip. Could also chop into chunks and use in a stew...or soup. Nuking meat is so blah.

Don't bother re-heating it -- just thinly slice it against the grain, throw it on top of a ceasar salad, and viola! Dinner!

The Foreman grills are wonderful, even the smallest ones.
