Question:

How do i make polish sausage and sauerkraut?

i have some canned sauerkraut and some polish sausage and i want to cook it together but i don't know how. how do i go about doing that?

Answers:
You have to have it in a crock pot and you just put them into gather that heats it up and if you want it to be browned you put them in a frying pan and that browns them

google it

put the cut up Sausage and Sauerkraut in a casserole dish. Add some brown sugar if you would like (it's the best!!) then bake w/ cover on 350 degrees for about an hour.

Put the sausage in a dutch oven or casserole dish, pour the Kraut over it. Cover and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes.

That's it--nothing else to add, NEVER add brown sugar or caraway seeds, that ruins it!!. For a traditional Polish meal, serve with boiled potatoes and butter.

I wish I could send some of our home-made kraut------you'd never eat the canned stuff again!!!

Start by frying the sausage until about brown then pour in your saurkraut and let simmer until heated through and it's done. A real simple meal (guten ta)

Is the sausage that you bought fully cooked already? If not, cook your sausage - put it in a saucepan, cover it with water and bring it to a boil. Once at a boil, cover it, lower the heat and let it simmer about 45 minutes. You may need to skim the top if any foam rises.

The sauerkraut will need to be rinsed - 2-3 times. Otherwise, it will be too strong. You can then heat it in the microwave when your sausage is ready and place your sausage on top of the sauerkraut.

Or, you can cut up your sausage when it's cooked and mix it with the sauerkraut.

If your sausage is already fully cooked - like Hillshire for example, all you have to do is heat it through. I bring it to a boil and then drain it and it's done

Hope this helps!!

I always rinse my canned sauerkraut first, it takes some of the "canned" taste out of it.

If you have a crockpot, you can just put your sauerkraut and sausage in it for awhile.

If not, a large pot will do the trick. I add big chunks of potatoes to mine, the potatoes soak up all that salty goodness and flavor.
