Sorry, I disagree with the above answers. Parboiling the ribs removes most of the flavor in the ribs, You can put them in a hot oven, 375 degrees for 45 minutes , covered, this process will precook the ribs and covering allow them to become fork tender. Remove from the oven and brush with your favorite BBQ sauce and brown them on all sides on the grill.
I wouldn't worry with par boiling boneless ribs, just don't cook them over a full-high heat.
I usually par-boil spare ribs for about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on how big the ribs are. When you grill them, use a lower heat and cook them longer. They'll come out nice and tender.
45 min in beer, trust me, takes fat out and does not put beer flavor in
First of all, I soak mine in apple juice for at least an hour or more, then sprinkle with dry rub. I parboil for about 20 minutes, not overcrowding the pot & place ribs on wire rack to cool. Once all ribs are parboiled, I sprinkle with a little more dry rub, then place over medium coals. Grill for about 40 - 45 minutes, turning with tongs, then add sauce if wanted & grill for about 15 - 20 more......Yummy
I agree with Jan, if you par boil they will be tender and easy to cook, but they will not be very tasty, the only way to cook beef ribs is low and slow. Indirect heat and don't sauce till the end.
I par boil mine for about 40 minutes. I let them cool then I cover them with bbq sauce & seasonings & let them marinade for about 4 hours. grilling time is minimal as you are just re-heating them & browning the sauce. nice & tender & moist
