What goes great with stew?!

Question:

What goes great with stew?

I mean what is it best served with? We're talking beef stew here.

Answers:
Biscuits, Texas toast, garlic toast, cheesy bread, or french bread.

Cornbread.....yummmmm. Or biscuits. Stew has everything in it, doesn't need any more side dishes.

egg noodles or thick slices of crusty bread.

Butter bread is very good with it

beer bread I think is the best for taste and texture.

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour*
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 (12-ounce) can of beer

1. Preheat oven to 375*F (190*C). Lightly grease or spray a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Combine all ingredients, mixing well.
3. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake for 1 hour.

Makes 1 loaf.

*Or you may substitute with 3 cups all purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.

Down south we always serve beef stew with fresh coleslaw & homemade cornbread!!

Bread, so you can dip it in the stew gravy, yum yum

Biscuits go great with beef stew. I cheat and use Bisquick (recipe's on the box). Enjoy with a nice glass of red wine!

corn bread! its great!

potatoes

Egg Noodles and Dumplings or you can serve it with homemade bread.

Fresh bread, corn bread, biscuits, dumplings (Bisquick box recipe).
Also Beef stew is good over rice or egg noodles.

cornbread

warm cornbread muffins, or warm buttermilk biscuits. My first choice would be the cornbread muffins though...lol Yummy!!

I put everything in mine, so I just have a slice of bread to mop up the gravy.
