microwave
or oven?
If you dont have a microwave put the ground meat in a plastic bag and then stick it is some cool ... then slightly warmer running water
Microwave. Don't use hot water. Very bad for the meat. The best way to thaw meat is in the fridge overnight.
take the meat out of the plastic tray and put it in a zipper seal baggie. Lay the bagged meat on a cast iron skillet, let it sit for 30 minutes and flip it over to sit another 30. Continue this till your meat it thawed-and no micro cooked corners! It should take only the first hour or less.
Well,I would put it in the microwave on defrost. You can just cook it in the pan frozen and as it cooks keep scraping the meat off.
There are only two sufficiently safe ways to thaw raw meats and poultry, COLD and I mean COLD running water, and over night refridegeration. Leaving raw meat or poultry out in a food danger zone can breed bacteria, and cause you to become sick. While you can indeed leave the meat out to thaw, you risk a chance of spoiling the meat.
All food must remain inside the food danger zone of 45 F - 135 F. You have a culumative time of 4 hours that the meat can enter and exit the food danger zone, and while you may say "Its only been out an hour." You honestly have no idea how long it has been out side that zone when it was delivered, stored and cooled at the supermarket, while you walked around with it at the supermarket, the trip home etc... Cold running water will speed up the process of defrosting, but overnight refridegeration is best. Take it out the day or two before you are going to use it.
Stay safe, keep your food freash!
Use the defrost cycle in the m/w
