They make a egg "boiler" specifically for microwaves.
However it doesn't come out quite the same. You cannot put an egg in the microwave with the shell intact. You could poach it in water....that's about it.

yes....put a half cup water in a microwave safe bowl with just a dab of vinegar...crack 2 eggs into the bowl and poke the yokes a few times with a fork or toothpick.....cover with a paper plate and put on for a minute after the time is up let eggs sit for another minute....you should have something that resembles a hard boiled egg.....

if you leave the egg in the shell and try to microwave you will have a big mess to clean up......

I tried that once a long time ago and when I took them out they exploded all over me and I was badly burned.What you could do is crack one into a custard cup or any small cup and microwave for a minute or until it`s cooked.You can make an egg mcmuffin that way that tastes just like McDonald's.Otherwise do not boil them in the microwave.I have scars on my arm because I tried that.

A microwave aggitates the water molecules in food, thus heating it with steam. The problem with harb boiling an egg is that the water inside of the egg will evaporate. The Albumen (white part) is mostly water. When the egg is cooked in water, it is cooked in a dry heat method. The water acts as the cooking surface, and evenly coagulates the Albumen (at 145 F). The inner yolk begins to coagulate at 165 F. So you can probly get a simular result in a microwave if you used water as a conductor of heat (Fully submerging egg in water) and using the water around the egg as the medium for heat distribution and transfer. The water should adjitate before the egg does (if its submerged). It probly wont be the same though.

There are several egg containers that you can cook an egg in, but it is more like poaching.
