Mushy Pea sandwiches?!

Question:

Mushy Pea sandwiches?

Have you ever had them? Roo just answered a question saying thats what he was having for lunch. What would be the best bread to use for them and would it be better with the dried ones you cook yourself or the tinned ones? Should the mushy peas be hot or cold and finally, what is the best brand of mushy peas?

Answers:
White bread and home made peas I think because when you make your own you control the texture and liquid content, tinned ones tend to be sloppy. A hint of mint might be nice too.
It's similar to Peas Pudding, a popular sandwich filling in the North East.

YUK!, can't think of anything worse.

ive never had one but it sounds looooovely, i may try it out, i reckon plain white bread wud be best,

No thanks, I don't think I'm hungry anymore......

Never tried but I would think tinned are better and maybe with a hint of vinegar...some chips and a piece of battered cod n the side would be nice too.
Awww, now I'm hungry, I blame you...lol

Toasted pumpernickel bread would be good with them. Cold mushy peas with a little mustard.

tinned peas, warm, on white bread. the mushy brand (i think thats what its called) also you must add mint sauce to them tooo!!!

yummy yummy for my tummy!!

harry ramsdens peas are the best yum

doesnt sound as good as baked beans and chips in a sandwhich!!

Hot mushy peas with plain white bread, well buttered. Also good on a buttered muffin, barm cake, bap, roll, whatever you call it depending on what part of the country you come from. Tinned mushy peas should do it. And wash it down with a nice cup of tea. And enjoy. Unfortunately I can't because mushy peas make me trump.

x

Gee, there's no accountin' for taste!
