Silk soymilk is really good, especially the vanilla flavor. It has a great smooth texture, I know a lot of people that prefer it to dairy milk. And it's fortified with more vitamins than are in milk, so great for growing kids too. You can even get it in little drink boxes.
cheese or yogurts, is a good source of calcium.
Try them with fruit drinks or flavoured milk. If you child is intolerant to cows milk you could try goats milk or sheep's milk. my daughter couldn′t keep cows milk down when she was young and it worked for her.
Does your child not like it or are they allergic to it? My son used to get terrible eczema because of cow's milk, so drank soya milk to begin with and then goat's milk. If it's because they don't like it, try flavouring it with fruit juices or cordials ( but be wary of the sugar content!) My children love smoothies and ice cream shakes, when they'd never drink milk on its own.
cow's milk is yuck, i agree with your child. Soya milk is a good alternative, it tastes great on cereal but not so good in coffee.
rice milk is also meant to be ok..
check out your local supermarket own brand varieties as they all vary slightly...co-op is quite good...
1. Fruit yogurt
2. Cheese cubes/ slices.
3. Soy milk.
4. Fruit smoothies.
5. Ice creams (Find me a kid who doesn't like this!)
6. Milk custards and desserts - Milky bar milk custard, Paul's chocolate custard, etc.
7. Milk puddings.
8. Condensed milk.
you did not say how old your child is...but there are lots of alternatives, soy milk, goats milk, rice milk, almond milk, but if the child is older it is not really necessary for them to drink milk per se; but if your child eats dairy products, then they are probably getting what they need, you might also get some vitamin supplements, you could also make your child smoothies with fruit juice and milk....
yes sunshine is a good source foe the vitamin d and just make sure they take some type of supplements to help replace the vitamin s that they might miss out on. or flavor the milk with chocolate or strawberry, best wishes
You could sell some soy milk,is good!~
If your child simply does not like milk, and is not allergic, use milk in cooking, fruit smoothies etc. Cheeses are a good choice, as is sour cream or cottage cheese (If you child won't eat cottage cheese.....blend it until it is smooth and creamy, like sour cream or cream cheese).
There are some real fruit juices, such as orange juice that have added calcium.
I don't care for any soy milk I've tasted, but alot of kids do like it.
A good multi-vitimin with calcium and vit D is a good choice, and many come in kid friendly shapes and tastes........Read labels, though........many contain alot of sugar.
Good luck.
Parmesan cheese - rich in calcium and better (and tastier) for you than a glass of whole milk. Give you child a chunk to eat and make sure you let your child grate as much as s/he wants on his / her pasta.
How about soy milk? Silk makes some great choices.
try soymilk, try all the flavors and dont tell them its milk, say its a milkshake. He'll drink it right away!
simple put some flavour in it like milkshake mix still gets the goodness of the milk
soya milk or goats milk. you can get them both from super markets easily.
