6 oz. chocolate chips

Death by Chocolate
1 box chocolate cake mix
4 sm boxes of Instant Choc. pudding
4- 8-oz. cool Whip
Bake cake according to directions.
and prepare pudding according to box.
When cake is cooled.
Layer as follows: This really looks nice in a glass pyrex dish or a trifle bowl.
half the cake - crumbled
half the pudding ( 2 boxes prepared)
16 oz. cool whip
Repeat
Go to the supermarket and buy something - for hot how about strudel or a pie and have with cream or icecream? For cold, how about a lovely mix of fruit - strawberries, blueberries etc. - and perhaps cheese and biscuits? Good luck.
Go to your grocery store and buy a angel food cake from the bakery section. Pick up a frozen bag of strawberries while you are there also. Heat the strawberries over low until bubbling over the stove and add some honey to sweeten them up. Pour the strawberries over the cake. It is fairly healthy and simple to prepare.
Strawberries and cream, you could sprinkle chocolate flake on the top to make it look more interesting, put it in nice glass dishes and hey presto! no work involved....
Fruit is good, for example halve some pears, stick them in boilking water for a bit to soften them, cover it cream with chopped up choc and cover. Fantastic!
Use a nice parfait glass (or layer in a small clear glass serving bowl) and chocolate pudding and whipped cream with crumbled, good quality chocolate wafer cookies, or Oreo cookies. Use the real pudding (the kind you cook), not instant. Be sure the top layer is whipped cream and sprinkle some chopped walnuts.
I'm not big on Cool Whip, but you could use that if you like. I'm all for the real deal... fresh made whipped cream. It's just heavy, or whipping cream beaten with a little sugar and vanilla.
All nice and easy, and it looks nice too.
strawberrys and ice cream mmm!
I have done for so many parties and it's always a big hit.
take an angel food cake, cut into 2 or 3 layers. between each layer spread some lemon curd (can be found with the jams and jellies in the grocery store)
then I usually get some fresh butter cream frosting from the bakery (most will sell it to you, up to a pound if you are nice), frost the cake. for a special touch i will lightly toast some shreadded coconut and sprinkle it on top.
get 3 bars of snickers chunked stick them together
vouala u got ur self a masterpiece oh but u must sprinkle somthin over them so it looks nice.
my kids loved this and it was so simple, buy a pre-made pie crust... fill it with instant chocolate pudding (whip the chocolate pudding mix with milk), spread a can of cherries on top and Ive put rasberries on top before too....... put it in the fridge ...........
Depending on how much time you have. Really simple - fruit salad. Just buy a load of different seasonal fruits, chop them up and offer with ice cream / fresh cream.
If you have a little more time, go for something like a crumble. You can buy tinned fruit (strawberry crumble is delicious) and the crumble top is easily made (will only take you 5 mins) and then bung it in the over for 20 mins or so. Serve with icre cream / custard.
The only other thing to do would be to buy a fresh / frozen desert.
you need
1 Ginger cake
1 Tub of ready made custard
1 Cup of liquer - either an orange or perhaps a sherry
1 tub cream
2 bananas
Crumble cake and mash banana in bottom of bowl - pour over liquer - give 10 mins then pour over custard
whip cream and either place in jug to help them selves or pou on top - yum yum definately an adult dessert
Get a couple of cans of your favorite pie filling. I like peach, but apple, cherry, or blueberry works the same. Then open up a can of flaky biscuits. Put the pie filling in a 9 x 13 greased pan, and layer the biscuits on top. Slice a block of butter (or 1/2 stick) in little pats, and put these all over top of biscuits, now mix some cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle this on top of everything. About a 1/4 cup of sugar - cinnamon mixture should cover the entire pan (I use more sugar than cinnamon). Bake for about 15 minutes or until biscuits are cooked through in a 350 degree oven. This is quick and yummy.
Yogurt Pie!
1/2 strawberry (or your choice) yogurt
1/2 cool whip
mix, put in store bought gram cracker pie shell.
put in fridge or freeze. Great for summer
Very easy, no baking, etc.
If your creative you can slice a strawberry on top, yummy anyway.
If you want something fresh, I have a simple recipe for a cobbler. 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 stick butter, 1 can pie filling of your choice.
Melt in oven the butter in a casserole pan
mix flour, sugar & milk together
when butter is melted pour the flour mixture on top
then put the pie filling on top of it.
put in open and bake till done.
This is DElisious! Note: sometimes when in a deep pan the dough will brown on top before the inside is done just place some foil over it when it browns. You want believe how simple this is. its amazing. try it.
for something that is super simple and looks like a million bucks...why don't you make some easy Bunuelos, recipe below
serve with vanilla ice cream and slivered almonds with a dash of cinnamon sugar...
Fantastic!
I got this from the Fearless Cooking for Crowds book my mum gave me a long time ago...

Cheerios.
If you want to lok really good but do virtually no work get some shop bought filo pastry, break and egg into a saucer to use as a wash and get some nice icecream... then....
cut pastry into squares lets say 8 inches or 200 cm square, lay one square on a surface, wash it with egg lay another at an angle over the top and brush arounf the outer edges and lay a third one on top so that they overlap and look like a sort of a star of david. egg wash the outter couple of inches of the pastry scoop a generous dollop of ice cream into it gather it up into a sort of bag like wrapper and the top will stick easily making a parcel place onto a baking tray, dust with icing sugar and cook in a preheated really hot oven for a minute or until it browns. if you have time to grab a bought coulis, toffee or chocolate sauce from the supermarket too then that is going to look great. whack it on a plate with some strawberies or a handful of mixed berries
I can do about 6 of these in ten minutes so it really is quick. utterly delicious and looks hundreds of times harder than it is.
Try the following easy to do recipes
Fruit Compote
3 peaches
6 apricots
6 large plums
8 oz (225 g) blueberries
6 oz (175 g) raspberries
2 oz (50 g) sugar, plus extra if needed
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 4, 350°F (180°C).
You will also need a shallow baking dish: I use a round dish approximately 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter.
First prepare the fruit. Halve each peach by making a slit all round through the natural crease, then simply twist in half and remove the stone. Cut the halves into three pieces each and place them in the baking dish. After that, do the same with the apricots and, if they're large, slice the halves into two; if they're small, leave the halves whole. Repeat this with the plums, but if they're clinging too tightly to their stones you may find it easier to slice them into quarters on the stone and pull each quarter off.
Add the apricots and plums to the peaches in the dish, followed by the blueberries. Now sprinkle the sugar over them, place the dish in the centre of the oven and let the fruits bake (without covering) for 25-30 minutes or until they are tender when tested with a skewer and the juices have run. Then remove them from the oven and gently stir in the raspberries, tipping the dish and basting them with the hot juices. Taste to check the sugar and add more if you think it needs it, then cool the compote and chill in the fridge. Serve with crème fra?che, or this is wonderful with Blackcurrant Ice Cream or Gooseberry and Elderflower Ice Cream.
or Fresh fruit salad
200g/7oz sugar
500ml/16?fl oz water
4 limes, juice and zest
900g/2lbs mixed fruits of your choice, chopped if necessary to make even sized pieces
125g/7oz turkish delight, chopped
Method
1. Add the sugar, water, lime juice and zest into a pan.
2. Bring to the boil and allow to simmer until the sugar has melted. Leave to cool.
3. Pour over the prepared fruit and chill. Just before serving, scatter with the turkish delight
I'd do strawberries and cream but serve the whipped cream and strawberries in a meringue nest. You could even soak the strawberries in a liquor for a slightly more adult flavour.

Banoffe pie, its really simple now just get a sweet pastry base from supermarket, a can of caramel by carnation they do it already caremelised instead of condensed milk these days, and around 3 bananas and a pot of double cream. Spread slices of banana on the bottom of the pastry base, pour over the caramel whip up the double cream on spread on top and finish of with a crumbled chocolate flake on top, this is a winner in my experience. Good luck x
Watergate Salad...This is soooo easy and looks really pretty.
Mix together a container of Cool Whip and a package of instant pistachio pudding. Add a can of pineapples chunks and a bag of mini marshmallows. That's it...and it is a great summertime dessert. (To give it more color, you can use colored marshmallows).
A nice fresh fruit salad with either cream or ice cream.
Whip some double cream, add honey and crushed biscuits (something like biscotti) and mix in.
In a saucepan, slowly heat some raspberries, a splash of vodka and sugar (if needed - depending on the raspberries) until softened and reduced. Leave to cool.
In wine glasses - layer the cream and the raspberries alternately. Crumble a little more biscotti on the top and add a couple of fresh raspberries to garnish.
Really summery and perfect for a dinner party as it can all be done in advance!
