Depends if your asking anyone in general or for a party. General both are great. Hint Boil your brauts in a german beer and pour some of that boiled beer on the kraut. Oh so good!! If for a party know what your friends like and go from there. If theres majority who like the bbq chicken go with that. If your not sure do both and send home some food home with your guests. So you know it dont go waste

chicken. i don't like kraut.

brats

Both, minus the sauerkraut.

Brats are wonderful with sauerkraut....had some yesterday.

MMMMMMmmmm grilled barbecued chicken

Brats & Sauerkraut...mmmmm...what time should I be there & do you want me to bring anything?

Brats with Kraut definately!

Brats. All depends on your company though. If it is just your family then Brats. If I had company I would do both or stick to chicken. That's always a safe choice.

BBQ Chicken for me please

Brats are good but no sauerkraut for me.

grilled barbecue chicken....thanx..

mmmmmm...i'll have a smigeon of both please...oh go ahead...pile it on!!!

if we are to be drinking good beer and have a devil may care attitude about calories and fat the Brats are my hands down favorite. Chicken is nice on a wednesday with a bottle of wine when I feel like I have to stay on my diet but very light on the bar-b-que sauce.

I'm all for the brats! Sausage must be one of the best cullinary inventions ever.

And brats can turn a barbecue interactive and all cook-it-yourself, so you spend less time at the grill and more time with the people.

grilled bats sound delicious, especially those big fruit bats, i wonder if they taste like peach or plum?

This time of year, the brats are better. Here is the best way to do them:

In a large pot, put 1/4 lb. butter, 1/2 a sliced onion, and two to three cans of beer. Old Milwaukee is the best to use for cooking brats. Add the uncooked brats (Johnsonville plain brats are the best), and bring to a rolling boil. Turn the heat down, and simmer - covered, for 30 to 45 minutes, rotating the brats periodically. Heat up the grill, and then put the brats on the grill. turn them constantly, and they will be done in about 3 minutes, since the beer already fully cooked them.

Use a really good spicy mustard (Grey Poupon Country) and good swiss cheese.

I've done this for people who had eaten brats for years, and they never had them as good as this! Trust me -- the Old Milwaukee makes a difference. Do NOT use a Light beer -- especially not Bud Light. It won't work!

Cook the sauerkraut separately on the grill on aluminum foil.

Grill brats and sauerkraut . . . Who gave you the idea that kraut and chicken were a good combination? You might consider par-boiling the brats in beer and onions before putting them on the grill. It gets rid of some of the grease and gives them a terrific taste. Also a few caraway seeds in the kraut before heating it also imparts a terrific taste.

chicken, particularly if done with wood chips that have been soaked in water. This smokes the meat, giving it a beautiful color & fantastic flavor. Serve with a tangy bbq sauce!

brats and sauerkraut on a baguette with honey mustard and swiss cheese! YUMMY!!
