What is the difference btw white and brown egg?!

Question:

What is the difference btw white and brown egg?

Answers:
Its to do with the breed of hen that laid the egg. Some lay white, some brown. You can even get blue or grey ones. Some people say that they can taste the difference, but the taste difference is very subtle.

NONE

No difference except the shell colour.

One is brown and the other is white.... that's about it. I've seen this question addressed in a few forums. Although there was a time it was said one was benefecial over the other, there is no nutritional difference.

I've had the blue eggs and the green eggs (the shells, of course)... definite diff. in taste, but that's because of the breeds of fowl used that lay the colored eggs. If you buy farm fresh in any color shell, you would notice a huge difference between those eggs and those from your grocer's shelves.

Contrary to popular belief, brown eggs aren't a healthier alternative to white eggs.

According to a column from Thrive Online, an Oxygen.com site devoted to women's health, there is no nutritional difference. The site explains, "The color difference is due to the specific breed of hen, according to the Egg Nutrition Center. Hens with white feathers and white earlobes will lay white eggs, whereas hens with red feathers and matching-colored earlobes give us brown eggs."

In fact, chicken eggs aren't limited to just brown or white. They also come in blue or even a nice speckled finish.

The Epicurious.com egg entry confirms the fact - white or brown - they are all the same. It assures that the color of the eggshell had nothing to do with the taste of the egg.

So, there you have it: The difference between brown eggs and white eggs is purely cosmetic

None other than the colour.

There is no difference in the nutritional content or taste. Egg color is determined by the type of chicken used to lie the eggs.

Colour

the white egg is regular farm raised and the brown one is organic or country style, as we say back in the old country

for me there is a difference in the taste. i really don't fancy white eggs, there just aren't as tasty as the brown ones. my mom says i'm just imagining things that all eggs are the same, she's so wrong, brown eggs taste great, and white eggs , not so great.

The difference is the breed of chicken that lays the eggs. Brown chickens lay brown eggs. Usually this is Rhode Island Reds.
White chickens lay white eggs, usually this is White Leghorn.
The nutrition is the same.

There is no difference, only that one has a brown shell and the other a white shell

There is no difference between brown or white shelled eggs.

they are both just eggs, no difference. What can be different though from any egg to another is dependent on what the hens are feed. Brown or white eggs are just that because of the breed of the chicken. I raised chickens as a kid and even had a S. American breed that laid green, pink and blue eggs, but they were still just eggs.

BROWN EGGS SELL BETTER .GREEN OR BLUE TASTE BETTER

Only the colour of the shell.

Different breeds of chicken lay different coloured shells, but it doesn't affect the egg inside.

there is no difference. the reason we mostly get brown eggs is to do with breeding. they bred out the white egg chickens because brown eggs are more popular.

there's no difference..
but if you want to find out if there is get someone to fry one of each for you .
tell them not to tell you which is which and then try..
but i really just think it's the breed of chook..

duck eggs are always white ... and chicken eggs can vary from baige 2 brown... but the taste is always the same
