Question:

How do you make homemade salsa? and Homemade tortilla Chips?

Answers:
Alton Brown did the homemade tortilla chips on the food network the other day. He stacked up 10 corn tortillas, cut them into quarters and dipped them in a combination of lime juice and salt. He let them dry then deep fried until they were crispy. I tried doing it in the oven, they were alright but frying was the best. For the salsa, seed the tomatoes and chop then place into a bowl. Add diced sweet onion, minced jalapeno (remove seeds to reduce heat or use sweet peppers), minced garlic, chopped cilantro, lime juice and 1 tsp cumin. For a different flavor, try roasting the peppers in the oven at a high temp and then chop and add to the salsa. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

cut up some tortillas and fry them until crispy.
put 1 can tomatoes , a hand full of cilantro or parsley , 3 cloves of garlic, 1 large onion , 1 tablespoon of chili powder and cumin,1 jalapeno pepper or 1 teaspoon of hot sauce salt etc in the blender and blend until chunky. i make this all the time its great!!!

Homemade Tortilla Chips
1 package flour tortillas or corn tortillas
2 tablespoons oil

1. With a pastry brush, paint a very light coating of oil on one side of each tortilla.
2. Stack the tortillas greased side up in an even pile.
3. With a sharp, heavy knife (or serrated knife) cut the stack in half, then into quarters, then into eighths.
4. Separate the pieces and arrange them greased side up on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
5. Toast the chips in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until they are crisp and just beginning to brown lightly; watch them closely so they don't become over baked.
