Can you put a clear plastic cup in the microwave?!

Question:

Can you put a clear plastic cup in the microwave?

Answers:
Ensure your plastics are microwave safe and do not reuse. Certain plastics can release chemicals at high temperatures. There is a lot of misinformation about this subject on the internet, however, when plastic is heated, chemicals can be released. We decided that we would avoid using plastics in the microwave altogether. We now use glass (microwave safe) and paper (paper plates and napkins/towels) only in the microwave. Better safe than sorry.

I wouldn't, it might melt.

No, plastic melts. Just put it's contents in a bowl and heat it up.

yes and it will melt :)

usually they melt. depends on thickness and quality though

neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

do u / have another plate / to put on bottom of microwave / because u just ruined the plate

no

plastic has to be as thick as like those ziploc storage containers. if it is ur okay

The answer to ur question is yes. U can put anything in a microwave as long as it will fit in it. Now whether u turn it on and start to cook it then no. Common sense, plastic will melt.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO because it will do whattttttttttttttttttttttttttt...

Microwaving in plastic is never a good idea, but when u do it needs to be microwave safe! see this web site but use glass its safer.

Come on now everyone, we're going to use common sense. Not all plastic will melt in the microwave. As long as it is microwave safe, which most cups are then yes. If you're referring to cheap disposable cups, then you may not want to do that.
