Hey 20-somethings, do you cook?
I get upset that people our age have lost touch with this beautiful art form known as preparing a culinary delight. It doesn't have to be featured at a French bistro, but I'm just wondering. Although I lead quite a busy life, there's few things I enjoy more than preparing a feast for myself. I think my favorites are: chicken francese, Italian meatballs, Jamaican jerk chicken, Dutch "beef logs", Japanese panko chicken with mustard, and just a great sauce. So, what say youse? ~N

I'm 21 and cook chilli, pasta dishes, stir-fries, curries, various things like pancakes, cakes, breakfast dishes, and this vegetable and potato thing where I use spices and stock and sort of stew the veggies...basically they come out moist and full of flavour mmm.
On the other hand, alcohol, junk food, take out and pizza are staples of my diet too :)
I've a friend who's never even cooked an egg for himself which is kinda a scary concept. Once I finish college I'll be cooking properly for myself all the time.
I agree with you! People need to get back in the kitchen!!! Mid 30's and have always cooked for myself!!!!
I like to make pups-in-a-tub, donkey punches, white dragons, and cleveland steamers.
Wow- sounds like you are doing a lot better than me in the cooking department! Yeah, I cook- but I mostly cook simple things that I can do from memory (without a recipe) tonight I cooked chicken fajitas! But I do like to cook- I think people rely too much on going out to eat, carry out, or fast food. yuck! Cooking is much healthier!
I like mc donalds and pizza hut too much. But when i do cook i like to grill out some bbq ribs, baked potato, corn on the cob with garlic & greek spices and boil me some mac & cheese!!
I can cook just about anything. My favorite dishes to prepare include desserts, LOVE to decorate cakes, meatballs, hot stuff grape leaves and chicken and dumplings. I cook from a variety of cultures from Southern American to Mediterranean to Asian and Italian.
hey i am 16 years old i love to cook it is my passion and my goal to make it through high school and go to a baking or cooking college or a cake decorating one. do u think that is a good idea? sorry if that doesnt answer ur question
I agree, i think the way life is now, so fast paced that most people just dont have the time. Even people who are in their 20's now. Its a shame but its true.
I personally love to cook, i cook for my family twice a week and try to bake as much as i can as well. I dont really play around with dishes too much and do my own thing, but i try to make different things to keep everyone satisfied. I have been cooking ever since i was a bout 6 or 7 and i dont plan on ever stopping lol :)
i love to cook....will you marry me?
I am 26 and cook almost everyday for myself and my hubby. I keep a recipe archive on my computer of all my tried and true recipes. This archive is a whole lot of word documents sorted into various folders (Poultry, Fish, Meatless, Beef, Soups, Sweets, Breads, Apettizers, Sides, Pasta) and is pretty much my brain. It makes it easy to find my recipes when I am doing a grocery list.
I am also trying new recipes all the time and am constantly adding to the archive. Most of my friends have ended up getting taking copies of my archive.
I dunno, Neither of my parents cooked. I grew up on fast food and frozen dinners and all I could think was that whenever I have a family that will NOT be the case. I started teaching myself to cook in college to develop the habit so whenever I do have a family it will just be 2nd nature to me.
My current faves: Crab Lasagna roll-ups, French Dip sandwiches, Kielbasa potato chowder.
