Which one are you supposed to put on a cupcake, if it makes a difference?!

Question:

Which one are you supposed to put on a cupcake, if it makes a difference?

are u supposed to put icing or frosting?
whats the difference between them two?
Thanks

Answers:
i think icing is more of a glaze while frosting is more of a creamy type topping.....choose whichever u prefer if u will be the one eating them......if not u then choose what the other people would like

whatever tastes best to you. doesnt matter. if it tastes good, do it.

Americans tend to use the word 'frosting'. Other countries tend to use the word 'icing'. The name 'icing' probably has something to do with the fact that confectioners' or 'powdered' sugar is also known as 'icing' sugar. Hence, combining icing sugar with other ingredients makes an 'icing'. The fact is that 'frosting' and 'icing' are the same thing and food writers used them interchangeably.

Their both practically the same thing I don't think it matters just as long as the cupcake taste good

frosting is thicker and fluffier.... icing is more sticky and solid and thin... they are both very sweet however frosting is better for cucakes where icing goes better on donuts etc.
