When you bake brownies do they get crunchy at the edges of the pan?
And if so, what do you do with the brownies cut from the edges of the pan?
Answers:
Do not preheat. Preheating heats up the metal or glass your cooking in really fast and therefore will cook the outsides faster. You can cook the same way you have always done it before but you can cover the rest of the pan very loosely by tinfoil.
sometimes. you eat them, sometimes it's the best part! if they're too crunchy or burned, then just trim if off and throw it away.
Yes and you can eat them or cut away that part if you don't like it.
yeah tahts my faveee part i use a butter kinfe
grease the pan
anyways try this one:
Ingredients:
1 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 "TEASPOON" baking powder
1/2 "TEASPOON" salt (careful with the salt "not too much")
1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
mix: cocoa, butter, beaten eggs (then mix)
add: sugar (then mix)
add: sifted flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla
pour in 8-inch square pan.
sprinkle nuts(just fill in every space)
Bake at 350 F
about 45 minutes
in a GREASED pan.
(yields 16-25 depending on how you slice it)
I got one of those silicone square pans and it solved that problem. But when I had my metal square pan I would grease the pan with Crisco then flour it (if you don't want to use flour, try a little bit of the brownie mix if you are using a box, or some cocoa powder).
the edges of my brownies get crunchy, but i don't like it. i don't remember them being that way when i was younger. i throw it away. if you like milk, you could try dipping the brownie edges in milk to soften them up. i don't drink milk so i haven't personally tried that. i think it would be the same as dippping cookies.
maybe you're baking them too long, or maybe its a result of the type of pan you're using? I use a glass pan and my brownies come out soft. Also, don't grease the sides of the pan cuz then the brownies won't rise, only grease the bottom.
thats the best part, most of the time...
My friend and I have a great relationship that way. I prefer the chewy brownie on the inside and she likes the crunchy edges. You can crumble them up, keep them in a plastic bag and sprinkle over ice cream, or find a friend that likes the crunchies.
