I need menu help?!

Question:

I need menu help?

I have two days that I am making two separate meals for two very special friends. On saturday I am making a meatball sub and on sunday I am making a taco salad. I would like to have suggestions on what I can serve along with these dishes such as veggies, meat, dessert, drinks etc....whatever

Answers:
Corn bread would be good with the taco salad. If you add a can of creamed corn to the box mix, it is so moist and delicious.
With the sub, I would serve garlic mash potatos. Boil the potatos with some cloves of garlic. Drain and mash with the cloves still in.
Hope this helps.

Meatball subs:
Salad with italian dressing
Ice Tea
Tiramasu

Taco Salad:
A taco salad is pretty much a meal unto itself, but you could serve with Ice Tea and Churros for dessert.

I would suggest with a meatball sub to have chips and maybe some carrots and celery with ranch for dunking. Just seems to fit.

As for the taco salad- how about a mojito drink or Margarita's

I'd serve a green salad or pasta salad with the meatball sub, and a lightish dessert, if any, such as a small scoop of sherbet or gelato.

The taco salad doesn't really need a side dish, but you can offer some chips and salsa for your guests to munch on while you are putting the finishing touches on the salad. Flan or a sopapilla (a fried flour tortilla topped w/ honey and cinnamon) would make a nice dessert in keeping with the Mexican theme.

Good luck! :)

For the meatball sub, the bread and meat will be very filling, so I think I would just serve a tossed salad. The taco salad generally contains meat, veg, dairy. All you would need to accompany would be some taco chips, you can try making them homemade to make it extra special and maybe a bowl of guacamole. A refreshing drink to do along side would be a lemon ginger tingler: combine 1 1/2 cups sugar with 1 cup water, bring to boil stirring constantly to make sure sugar melts. Cool mixture than add 1 1/2 cups lemon juice. Pour into a glass container and keep in the fridge. To make drink, put ice in a glass, add 1/2 cup mixture and 1/2 cup ginger ale. To make it for the taco salad, make it with lime juice instead. Good luck on your dinner parties, have fun!
