Is cooked ox kidney as a meal harmful to your health?!

Question:

Is cooked ox kidney as a meal harmful to your health?

I stew it with onion, some flour and have it well cooked and served up on toast. Delicious. Some people have remarked that too much of it is harmful. Is this an old wives tale or true?

Answers:
Certainly not harmful unless you are pregnant (it does contain a lot of iron, as does liver!) or the kidney is off, in which case it might give you food poisoning.

I suppose anything in excess is not good for your health but if you have a balanced diet of plenty of veg and carbs etc, it should not be a problem.

if you're the ox

no, its not. i ate fried pig kidney already and it taste good

Old wives tale.
