Whatz d difference btwn flan n pancake?!

Question:

Whatz d difference btwn flan n pancake?

Answers:
Flan is a custard type dessert and pancakes are a cooked type of "bread".

Below is the recipe for each

Flan Ingredients:

1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
4 eggs
1 tbsp almond extract
pinch of salt

Caramel Ingredients:

1/2 cup dark brown sugar
3 tbsp water

First, in a small pan, combine dark brown sugar and water. Stir until you get a thick caramel (about 2 min). Place caramel in nonstick round or rectangular pan, swirl around and set aside. Preheat oven (conventional or toaster) to 350 degrees.
Next, combine eggs, almond extract and salt and mix. Add evaporated and condensed milk to eggs and mix again. Check to see that the caramel is hardened and place flan mixture in pan. Place in oven and set timer for 60 minutes. If knife comes out clean when placed in center, it's ready. Place at room temperature or refrigerator until cool. Lastly, invert flan onto large dish and chill for at least one hour before serving. Enjoy!

PANCAKES

2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 3/4 cups milk, *see note
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons melted butter
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Beat egg with hand beater until fluffy; beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Grease a heated griddle.
Pour about 3 tablespoons batter from tip of large spoon or from pitcher onto hot griddle.

Cook pancakes until puffed and dry around edges (tiny bubbles will begin to form).

Turn and cook other sides until golden brown. Flipping once should be enough. The first pancake isn't always the best one.

Note: Buttermilk, yogurt, or sour cream may be substituted for some or all of the milk.

This may cause the batter to be too thick or too thin; adjust accordingly by adding milk to thin or flour to thicken. When you use a sour ingredient, cut the baking powder by 1/2 tablespoon and add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. If you don't have buttermilk, you can add powdered buttermilk to the milk (a good thing to have on the shelf).

Makes about 18 four inch pancakes.

Serving Size: 6

you can see by the cooking methods that there are no similarities between the 2

flan is a kind of rich custard dessert with a layer of soft caramel on top. (when you bake it, the caramel is actually on the bottom. then when it's done, you inverd the it onto a dish, causing the caramel to be on top and drip down the sides of the flan)

pancakes are a type of flatbread prepared from a sweet batter that is cooked on a hot griddle or in a frying pan.
