Question:

Does anyone know how to make a good combination to make a tasty burger?

What kind of of extras do you put on burgers instead of just patties and cheese some veggies?

Answers:
Swiss cheese, mushrooms and bacon. Pickled onion slices are good. I've seen some done in a "california" style, probably good on a turkey burger, with slices of avacado, and I do like guacamole, too.

I season the meat with onion and garlic powder and worcheshire sauce, salt and pepper. Sometimes i put chopped onion in the mix.

sautee some sweet onions and mushrooms in butter. put provolone cheese on your patty and put the onions and mushrooms on top. put some worchestershire sauce on the patty while its cooking.

Use hot sauce on your burger. This goes well with jack cheese, onions, and lettuce. Try it!

Try putting a stuffing of some sort in your burger? Like a piece of cheese in the middle or maybe garlic butter. When you bite into it, you will get a different flavour each time. Try experimenting with different flavours.

this is awesome. you could probably use beef, but all the elements work well with the turkey though. is really messy to eat, but worth it.

Salsa Verde Turkey Burger

Ingredients:
1 avocado, halved and pitted
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Salt
1 pound ground turkey thigh meat
1/2 cup salsa verde
4 slices pepper Jack cheese (about 4 ounces)
4 kaiser rolls, split
1 cup fresh cilantro leaves, coarsely chopped
2 small green or red tomatoes, sliced

Directions:
Scoop the avocado flesh into a small bowl. Add the mayonnaise and garlic and mash with a fork until well combined but chunky. Season with salt and set aside.

In a medium bowl, combine the ground turkey and salsa. Divide the mixture to form 4 patties.

In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook the patties for 4 minutes on one side. Flip and top each with a slice of cheese; cover and cook for 4 minutes more.

Spread the avocado aioli on the split side of each roll bottom and cover with 1/4 cup cilantro. Top with a patty and 2 tomato slices; set the roll tops into place.

try crunching up some of your favorite type of potato chips and mixing them into the meat before cooking, theres so many diff. types these days that the possibilities are pretty much unlimited.

There is a butcher shop by me that sells garlic bacon. This stuff is absolutely awesome on burgers. Matter of fact, I won't grill burgers without garlic bacon anymore.

It just depends what you are into actually. Some like it hot: Add chopped onions and jalapeno peppers when mixing the meat. Some like it not: Basic burger -- salt and pepper, sweet onion, A1, parsley, oats (to absorb fat, keep in flavor) and eggs (yes eggs... it holds the burger together.)

Or you could always experiment try adding salsa as a topping with pepper jack, or caramelize onions and mushrooms with Swiss or a Gouda for the cheese. Make a Cobb burger by adding blue cheese, bacon, sliced hard boiled eggs, lettuce, and tomato. Pretty much you can do anything that you like to your burger.

I love to stuff a burger with blue cheese! Keep the meat simple, just salt and pepper. Instead of lettuce I'll use fresh spinach leaves. And, roast a garlic bulb and spread that on yer bun instead of mayo or catsup.

Here are some out of the ordinary ideas:

Pizza burgers: Serve on sourdough bread, topped with mushroom pizza sauce instead of ketchup, shredded mozzarella instead of cheddar or american, and sprinkle with fresh basil. Also try adding a little garlic and diced onion into the meat.

Bacon cheese burgers: Top with smoked cheddar, peppered bacon, and french onion dip, instead of mayo or ketchup.

Mushroom swiss sourdough: Serve on toasted sourdough bread, topped with lots of melted swiss cheese, and cream of mushroom soup (heat it up with a little milk, but don't make it completely thin like a soup, leave it thick). Add in a little onion, if you like.

Ranch-BBQ burgers: When making your burgers, mix in some hot barbeque sauce. Serve on toasted buns, topped with melted pepper jack or cheddar, a little lettuce, onion, and tomato, if you like, and then top with ranch dressing. For an added kick, try jalepeno peppers.

Enjoy!

Season the meat with beer...it gives and amazing flavor!

when when i make my patties i add minced garlic and chopped up onions to my meat then make patties out of them. then i salt and pepper them then fry them. then i take some hamburger buns and toast them a bit to a light brown then i add butter and garlic to the toasted buns when patties are done i place them on the hamburger buns then add bbq sauce with sauteed mushrooms and sauteed yellow onions. (sauteed in lots of butter lots of salt) then some provolone cheese and then i eat it!
