How can i make pork chops more interesting?
Pork chops were on offer today! I normally grill them and serve with the obligatory apple sauce, but would love some inspiration.Four kids and hubby would be grateful too!
Answers:
Marinade in Chinese plum sauce for about 1-2 hours and then grill them.
I know my hubby loves his pan fried, along with oven chips, ovened battered onion rings and microwaved peas!
Just a suggestion, hope it helps!
Butterfly the porkchops and season well on the inside and out. Stuff about 1/2 cup of cooked dressing inside and bake in the oven at 375 for 35 - 40 minutes.
Roast them slowly in the oven. Just before they are done turn the oven up so you get a bit of crackling. They will be so tender they will almost fall apart and the crackling is a nice touch. Serve with vegetables, apple sauce and gravy.
Teach them to recite Shakespeare.
try breading and baking them like oven fried chicken. Take an egg, some corn flakes smashed finely or bread crumbs (whatever is on hand) add some black pepper and other seasonings your family likes. Dip the chops in the egg then the breading mix, place into baking dish and bake. Mashed potatoes is good with this.
My husband and kid love this recipe if i say pork chops the say Garlic Kissed!! for more recipes like this on go to

Season them with Lawry's Seasoning Salt, season your flour with salt and pepper. put a pork chop in the flour and cover it completely. then fry it in 350 degree oil. Then get some fresh okra and cut them up season them then lighly coat them with egg yolk. Dip them in flour and drop into oil. AMAZING! They'll be a crispy brown when they are done. Immediatley dust them with a bit of salt. then simply go with a simple apple crisp as well :) YUM-O!
coat them with eggs and bread crumbs. pan fry for a few minutes and then bake until done.
Alternate method my grandmother taught me that blows everyone away but takes a long time: Get a cast iron skillet. Put a dab of oil in the middle. After rinsing the pork, add garlic powder, seasoned salt and paprika. Cover with aluminum foil and slow cook until the meat is falling off the bone. You won't believe how good this is.
Add some carrots, peas and onions and add a can of ready made gravy. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Also you can make homestyle potato fries.
Also a salad will be good with that.

I always make my pork chops this way and everyone loves them. First I brown the chops in a frying pan on the stove, when they are browned on both sides I take them out and set in a baking dish. Now in the same pan that I just used I take 2 cans of cr. of chicken soup and heat up with some onions, until brown and bubbly. Pour the soup and onions over the pork chops and bake at 350 for about 30 - 40 minutes. The pork chops turn out so tender and I use the soup from them over mashed potatoes.
Marinate overnight in beer, drain off, wrap in tinfoil with a little butter,a few slices of onion ,1/2 tomato season with black pepper, cook slowly in the oven, delicious!
Add a little "Mrs Dash Original" spice. Adds tons of flavor without salt, heat, or extra calories. We make a salad too: toss fresh spinach leaves with a little low fat ranch dressing, tiny bit of onion, cherry tomatoes and crushed bacon bits. It's great for this time of yr.
I usually cook my pork chops in the oven in gravy slowly all day, maybe throw a few sausages in or perhaps some chopped up bacon. My kids are extremely fussy but they will eat this.Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt dry out or invest in an electric slow cooker for your work top, almost anything can be cooked in these from chilli to curry to homemade soup to stew and dumplings, mmm.Best of all you can put everything in before you take the kids to school or go to work, leave it and it will be cooked by dinner time without hardly any imput from yourself.
Pork chops with cream and mushrooms baked in the oven
Very simple, a great way to make Pork chops taste good is simply to smear a teaspoon of wholegrain mustard on top and then oven bake or grill. Tastes great, or alternatively mix creme fraiche, two teaspoons of wholegrain mustard and sweeten with honey and just warm on a slow heat. My favourite!
I don't buy chops anymore. Get the pork tenderloin instead. It's boneless, tender, and has no fat. Cut the loin halfway down the length, make some stuffing and fill the center with it. Season the outside with salt, pepper and sage. Tie with butcher's twine, sear it on all sides in a pan, and bake for 30 minutes.
pan cookem with oj(no oil, ever)put chip salsa w cilantro on top, cookem cripsy, maybe sliced apple on top,,,,,,,,a snortin good meal
I agree with the one ahead of me who said "Switch to pork loin". Hundreds more ways to prepare, and no bone to wrestle with.
For chops: I like to make stuffed chops. Use a packaged stuffing and add dried cranberries to the mix. I also like to soak them in Kikkoman Teriyaki Marinade for half an hour, then broil and baste with apricot preserves.
Make them Vietnamese style!
Marinate with a sweet-salty mixture of fish sauce (nam pla), brown sugar, rice vinegar, ground coriander, and sliced onion. Pan-grill the chops until mostly cooked, then pour the marinade and onions into the pan. Cook until the onions begin to soften. The marinade should reduce and glaze the chops. Serve with steamed rice, chili sauce, and fresh chopped cilantro, with sliced raw cucumber and tomato on the side.
Sprinkle a little tabasco sauce on each one, (I have children and they even eat them, I just put less on theirs) then grill.
Off course use Season All as well. That's all you need.
Try it, it's great
i sometimes baste them with a bit of apricot jam and soy sauce.......then grill them.
Make a horizonal slit in the chop and stuff with a mixture of fried, chopped mushrooms, onion and garlic. before you fry the chop you could secure the slit with cocktail sticks (toothpicks). Snap off the tops and tail of the 'picks before frying so they cook easily but don't forget to remove them before serving! You could also (after stuffing) dip them in beaten egg then in breadcrumbs to get a crispy coating. If you feel confident enough, you don't have to use the 'picks.
Bon appetit!
cheese and chive sauce is great, so easy grill then make up sauce and pour over!!
or could marinate then with garlic Worcester and soy sauce then fry
or marinate with ketchup and brown sauce then grill!!
Nice : - ))
season with powdered ginger, salt, pepper and grill.
lay in a roasting pan, season with salt, pepper and pour a glass of coke (as in cola!!) over and roast in a medium oven - the coke tenderises the meat and adds a lovely flavour
I like them with sage and onion stuffing on, cooked slowly in the oven with foil over, then remove foil to crisp up towards the end.
Well, If you want to make them more juicy and tender, I recommend brining them in a salt bath for a few hours. Then, what I like to do is make a pocket and stuff the pork chops with a mixture of a few varieties of mushrooms, garlic and onion that I cooked in butter. Then seal the incesion with a toothpick or two. Pan sear with olive olive on med-high heat. Add white wine or even chicken stock and braise (covered) for about 5-10mins depending on thickness on low-ish heat. Plate the chops, reduced the liquid in the pan and finish with butter to make a simple pan sauce. Serve!
