Sauted broccolli?!
Sauted broccolli?
with garlic and onions and olive oil
Answers:
here is a classic,
boil water, add 2 TBS olive oil and a bit of salt, cook broccoli flowerettes 2 minutes, drain, add ice cubes and chill imediately for 3 minutes, drain again
heat a large pan
add 3 TBS olive oil
juice of 1/2 lemon and 1 clove of finely chopped garlic, fry till garlic is golden brown
add broccoli, 1 more TBS olive oil, sautee briefly (BTW the word sautee comes from French to jump, the sauteed thing fry at a pretty good rate, hence they jump a bit)
prepare the following:
in a separate pan melt 1 TBSP butter and add 2 TBS olive oil, add 2 TBS bread crumbs (Italian style) and sautee till golden brown.
combine broccoli with butter bread crumbs, seve hot.
mmmmmm
very good choice of taste. yum yum!
that sounds really good, but what is the question?? are u looking for a recipe or just asking if it sounds good?? as i said it definately sounds great!!
Try making a garlic butter rather than using oill!!
That sounds great! I love broccoli. Garlic would make it so much better. If you are looking for a recipe try kraftfoods.com or recipes.com. But I'd give a thumbs up to that!
Do you have a steamer? Cut up the broccoli into small florets. Then steam the broccoli for about 4 minutes. If you don't do this first, the broccoli will saute unevenly and the garlic will cook too much.
Heat up the olive oil on low-medium. Add the garlic for a minute or two and then add chopped onions. Saute until very light golden (don't overcook, garlic becomes bitter). Add broccoli and saute for about 2-4 minutes, check on how soft you want your broccoli.
Variations: you can add butter to the oil for a richer flavor but don't use butter alone, it burns too quickly. Try shallots instead of onions for a lighter flavor.
Is this a question?? if it's good? It's delicious!
