Does a jam made from real fruit go bad? If so, when?!

Question:

Does a jam made from real fruit go bad? If so, when?

I have a blueberry one that is still sealed but is in a clear jar. I think its been in my cabinet for almost 2 years. Asking an overall fruit/jam spoil question though...

Answers:
As long as it has been kept sealed and at a reasonable temperature, your blueberry jam should be fine.
Homemade jam cooked in a microwave is short-lived, it will only keep fresh if stored in the fridge. Otherwise it goes fuzzy on top!
But yes, jam cooked in usual way lasts longer :)

My wife!

As long as it's still sealed...just open it and see if anything fuzzy is growing on it, which I doubt! My homemade canned things can usually last that long without any problems!
It CAN spoil though...once exposed to air, you'll know it if it goes bad!

If it's sealed, its still good. Just some jam advice: If you use freezer jam, you can always throw it back in the freezer and it wont go bad.

Check the expiry date on it as a guide. When you open it try to judge according to smell and taste. If it is good eat it and keep the jar in the fridge.

If the vacume seal is intact should be ok.
Especially being in the frige.

our family makes homemade jam also- and from hand picked berries- what you have to do to keep it good- is freeze it- it keeps good like for a year- we tried it.

If it is still well sealed it will be OK and even if there is a bit of fuzz on top, just scoop it off.
There is so much sugar in jam it is well and truly preserved.
My mother used to make dozens of jars a year when the fruit was in season so we had jam all year round.
