Answers:
Make sure you leave the over door cracked open on broil. Be there to watch so you do not over due it.
We just pop ours on the oven rack with a pan below to ketch all the juice.
You will do fine... and mmm mmm good!!

go right ahead on cooking your steak with the broiler just don't burn it remember it is the hottest temp. in the oven and will burn if you leave it in to long

As far as I'm concerned a steak in a broiler is a waste of meat! Steaks belong on the grill!

you want it on the top rack . put some foil on the broiling pan. keep an eye on it. check after 10min. if its nice and brown flip it over for another 10min. take a knife and cut into the center to see if it cooked all the way through. if not put it back in for a bit till it is. It's not that hard.

Well done is 165 degrees F at the center.

Put it on a pan, salt/pepper to taste, into the broiler, use a meat thermometer to get the temperature.

I know this website is not for broiling, but it should help a bit:

Good luck and enjoy!

I've cooked chicken, fish, and burgers in a broiler, but not steak because it is hard.

Broilers operate on VERY high heat, so if you do not watch your steak very closely (every two mins). Your sh!t will be burned to a crisp. Of course it is gonna take longer if you like your steak well done. Just watch it.

how thick is the steak if about 1in about 15min on each side just salt and pepper about 15min before

If ya want well done, your steak is ready when the smoke alarm goes off! Seriously, just eyeball the thing. When it looks good and done, pull it out, and cut it with a knife. If it's not pink in the middle, it's done, and if it is, put it back in and cook it some more. All broilers are different. You just have to go trial and error until you find the right time for yours to cook your favorite steak the way you like it. I wish it was more profound that that, but it's not!

Well first you have to preheat your oven broiler for about 15 minutes at a temperature of 350oC and then you can cook your steak to a temperature of 380oC if you want your steak well done!

Hope this help you and good luck and good steak!:)

Don't use the broiler at all. The best indoor steak I've cooked I learned from Alton Brown (My Hero). Preheat a cast iron skillet to 500 degrees in your oven. Oil the steaks and season. Put the steaks in the hot pan over med-hi heat on the stove-top for 1/2 minute per side. Put the pan with the steaks back in the oven, flipping halfway thru cooking. 2-3 minutes per side for med-rare. Adjust cooking times to desired doneness. Make sure fans are on, windows open, smoke detector out of the line of fire. Restaurant Good!

Pre heat it and place your racks so the steak will be 8" from the element, and cook for about 9 minutes per side, for a 3/4" - 1" steak and up to 13 minutes for one 11/2"
The main thing is to keep a eye on them as they cook. It is a learning process so remember what you do, and use the timer to remind you.
I always use the one on the m/w.
Put it on a rack in a baking pan so the fat doesn't drip on the floor of the oven.
