Chocolate Cake Recipe With Mayonnaise In Batter?!

Question:

Chocolate Cake Recipe With Mayonnaise In Batter?

My boyfriend HATES mayonnaise, and I am looking to trick him by using the old Hellman's recipe with mayonnaise in the cake mix. The mayonnaise is supposed to make the cake more moist. I know that you cannot taste the mayonnaise in the batter, but that fact that it's in the cake will totally make my boyfriend gag. ;-)

So, I have a two part question:
Has anyone ever tried this recipe?

And:
If so, is light mayonnaise appropriate to use, as well? I read that it is, but that the cake ended up to be very "gummy in texture".

Thank you for your imput!

Answers:
I have used the recipe and it's the moistest cake you will ever have! He won't know the difference.

Don't use the light. The consistency doesn't come out right.

If you did that to me I would vomit on you.

Yes, I've tried this recipe. It's delicious. Please don't tell him there is mayo in it. Why ruin it for him?

Use the REAL mayo, not the light.

Good luck.

Just buy a box of cake mix that calls for two eggs and instead of eggs use two globs of mayo. That should work. Have fun! lol.

i like applesauce in my cakes. its better than mayo

mayo is just eggs and oil
omit eggs and oil
add that much mayo (2/3 cup)
HE WILL NEVER KNOW
use regular NOT light

only tell him after the cake has been devoured
