Answers:
Brown 1 pound ground beef in a large pan, season with 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 1/2 tsp cumin and 1 tbsp chili powder. Add diced onion and bell pepper. Cook it for a few minutes until the onions are cooked. Then I add a 14 oz. can of tomato sauce, 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can each red kidney beans and black beans (pour the beans into a colander and rinse first). When it heats up to the boil, I taste to adjust salt and pepper and chili powder, and I add about 2 tsp cilantro or oregano, whichever you have. This is my basic chili recipe. Good luck, what a good daughter you are.

Brown 1 lb. ground meat and drain excess fat
chop 1 small onion
chop 1 small green pepper
Drain/add 1 can kidney beans
Add 1 large can of tomato sauce
Add 1 14oz can stewed tomatoes
1 tsp. chili powder/tabasco to taste
simmer for 1 hour or more.....enjoy

I use canned beans, because it's easy: Pinto, chili beans, kidney beans, some diced tomatoes, 1 pkg of chili seasoning, 1 can diced green chilis. I also add 1 lb ground hamburger meat browned with onions and green peppers. I also brown sausage and add to it.

basic chill one lbs hamburger browned and drained 1 can kidney beans 1 tbs chill powder onion dice green pepper diced salt and pepper to taste and one tablespoon hot sauce bring to a boil chill
