Are salted pistachios ok to cook/bake with?!

Question:

Are salted pistachios ok to cook/bake with?

I can only get unsalted pistachios online, which is a bit pricey and out of the way, while roasted and salted pistachios are on sale everywhere. Most recipes I have seen do not specify if you need raw, toasted, or salted/unsalted pistachios. I was thinking that using salted pistachios would be ok, but I would probably omit any salt in the recipe to prevent too much salt from affecting the flavor of the dish.

Does anyone have experience or knowledge about this?

Answers:
yes, you can even make ice cream with them, ice cream has tons of salt in it. just avoid the red ones, the dye gets all over, try the red ones in kung po chicken instead of peanuts for a nice change.

No knowledge, but wouldn't the nuts get really hard in the oven? And burnt?

When I bake with pistachios, I prefer salted ones, but I use them in a chocolate chocolate chip biscotti for one of the places I bake for. In other recipes, omit the salt if you like.

I think it would be fine. I would omit the salt, just in case because you aren't sure. If it doesn't taste good then you know but I don't think you'll notice much of a difference. I have used salted nuts in a brownie recipe and the taste was very good, something about the salty and sweet hit the right note.
