Whats the best way to bake a sweet potato?
How long and at what temp?
Answers:
Wash sweet potatoes, rub them with vegetable or olive oil. Pierce some holes, with a fork, all over sweet potatoes (to allow steam to escape). Place in 400 degree oven for 50-60 minutes (the best way to tell if they are done is to poke a fork into the thickest part of the potato). It should poke through easily, and have no resistenace when removed. Cut them in half lengthwise. Serve with butter, and cinnamon. Viola!
I like to add some sugar and Cinnamon with marshmallows on top bake until brown
I luv them oven roasted: Preheat oven 400 degrees
Cut them into quarters, lightly spray with olive oil, dried rosemary, salt & pepper (to taste) Bake on cookie sheet for 20-30 mintues turning them over mid way through cooking.
Also known as Kumara, the sweet potato can be treated exactly the same as ordinary potatoes.
Cut into chunks and bake, or roast at 180C for 35-45 minutes.
Put potatoes on oven rack and bake at 450 degrees for 35-45 minutes. Then poke it would a fork if the fork goes in easy, it's done. Then you can split it down the middle and add butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Or whatever you would like.

Well you don't have to bake a sweet potato for it to come out tasting good and its very simple what you do is cut your sweet potato in to chunks or slices and put them into a microwave safe dish then sprinkle some butter and brown sugar into the dish and warm that up for about five mins. and then stir it and put it back it the microwave for about 10 mins and its done..
Forget baking this is what you do
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons milk or light cream
5 medium sweet potatoes
4 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions:
Milk or cream must be at room temp. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut into large chunks. Put them in a pan with enough salted water to cover. Bring them to a boil. Reduce heat and boil, covered, about 25 mins or until very tender. Drain, transfer potatoes to a large mixing bowl.
Add the butter, brown sugar, salt, and spices to the potatoes. Partially mash with a hand masher. Add 2 tbsp of the milk, mashing a bit more, until blended but still lumpy. Add a little more milk, blend to desired consistency. Put in a serving dish or your bowl add a little cinnamon and butter to the top and enjoy. YUM
