Can you cook an egg in a microwave??
In the shell or even with out the shell
Answers:
You can make "fried" eggs very easily in about 2 minutes for two eggs. Be sure to cover the plate with waxed paper because it splatters a lot. Do not cook eggs in the shell.
Yep. I make scrambled eggs / omelettes. I've also seen things you can buy to make "boiled" eggs.
You should lookup this q on youtube. Its pretty funny to see really.
Yes and no.
With the shell on, no. It will explode and make an amazing mess.
Without the shell, if you leave it whole (like a fried egg) it will pop and explode, but less mess than a shelled egg. Unless you put it into a microwave egg cup or custard cup.
However, if you scramble it in a bowl and microwave it, it cooks without damage. I use to make quick scrambled eggs that way regularly when I did not have a stove.
i make scrambled eggs in the microwave.i have to stir them several times so they cook evenly, but they come out good
yes.
Yep poached eggs, I bought something from the supermarket to steam them. I found it very useful for healthy cooking. They taste like boiled eggs but are shaped like the ones in egg mcmuffins. Takes about 60-90 sec in the microwave. (depending on urs and how you like them done)
Ive seen on tv people making omelets and scrambled Which takes a bit more effort IMO
FYI You cant call a egg cooked on wax paper "fried"
Butter or spray a coffee cup, and break the egg into the cup, scramble with fork and nuke for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until desired doneness. Don't overcook, or you will have rubber eggs.
cant cook an egg in its shell in the mic. but u can crack it, put it in a bowl, cover it with paper towel and make an egg patty, for egg sandwiches and such...just dont cook it too long. that can be disaterous.
Of course you can cook an egg in the microwave. I suspect you are talking about hard-cooked eggs? If that is the case, pop the shell at the wide end with a tack so the inside can expand without exploding.
Next heat up a bowl of water without the eggs until it is boiling. Put the eggs into the hot water and place the bowl containing the eggs and water back into the microwave. Heat it at about 50% power for 7 minutes and you should have hard-cooked eggs without an exploding mess. As long as the water covers the eggs, it should keep the heat energy dispersed.
Now if you want it to explode and make a mess...
