What are some good spices for hamburgers on the grill?!

Question:

What are some good spices for hamburgers on the grill?

Answers:
Take about 1/8 of a cup of Heinz ketchup & mix it in with a pound of hamburger, this will help your burgers to stay juicy on the grill. Before putting on the grill cover the burgers generously with garlic salt & pepper, & try not to overcook. Burgers are often cooked way too long, & you will not get good flavor from a dry piece of meat. The Heinz ketchup has spices in it's recipe that cook well with the added garlic.

Cumin is also a great spice to add to the garlic salt.

Good luck.

Worcheshire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, season salt. Need more?

This is a very good one:
Ingredients:

* 8 medium Tomatoes
* 2 tsp Balsamic Vinegar
* 60 ml Olive oil
* 1.5 kg minced Beef
* 2 tsp finely grated Lemon zest
* 4 cloves Garlic, crushed
* 1 tbsp fresh Oregano, roughly chopped
* 1 loaf Ciabatta
* 200 g Fetta, crumbled
* 100 g baby Rocket leaves

Method:

* Cut tomatoes into wedges, drizzle with some vinegar and olive oil and cook uncovered in the hot oven for 25 minutes.
* Meanwhile, combine beef, lemon zest, garlic and oregano in a large bowl, shape them into 8 patties, cook them on grill or barbecue until brown on both sides and cooked through.
* Cut bread into 16 slices, brush with oil and garlic, cook on the grill until golden brown.
* Serve patties on warm bread with rocket, fetta and roast tomatoes on top.

Tip:

* Make Patties slightly larger than your bread as they will shrink after cooking.

sprinkle some fruvian death pepper powder on it. In goes the burger, out goes the flame

just salt and pepper is real good

I really like adding chopped garlic, chopped sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, box grated onions, with the water squeezed out of them, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes.

I knew a manager of Fuddruckers and happen to know that their hamburger (and steak) seasoning is actually very easy to get. Fuddruckers uses Sysco (spelling?) food products and seasonings. McCormick carries the same spice that Fuddruckers gets from Sysco. It's called Montreal Steak Seasoning and I use it when I run out of Back of the Yards from The Spice House. Montreal Steak Seasoning is superb on grilled pork loin chops, too.

I'll also share with you my own steak seasoning. I use it only when grilling as the allspice is really enhanced when used over a wood fire:

1 part coarse grind tellicherry black pepper (no other kind will do)
1 part garlic powder
1 part kosher salt (the finer grind is best)
1 part onion powder
1/4 part COARSE grind allspice

It's important that you give the allspice a coarse grind and not grind it to a fine powder. I find that it loses its flavor after a few weeks in this mixture if you grind it too fine. I grind it to the consistency of The Spice House's "Coarse Grind" black pepper, maybe a little bit coarser.

If you like mexican flavors try these stuff mexiburgers:

mix 1 1/2 lb ground beef with a packet of taco seasoning. divide the meat into 8 thin patties. take one patty and top with pepperjack cheese and about 1 tablespoon salsa. top with another patty (sandwich style) pinch the edges of the patties together to make a stuffed patty. the grill. top with another slice of cheese, lettus, and tomato. I've used the same method and stuffed with cooked bacon and swiss cheese.

Whatever seasoning you go with I recommend mixing the meat with the seasonin really good and htem makeing the patties instead of just topping the patty with the seasoning. it gives flavor throughout instead of just on top. if you use a liquid seasoning go easy. if your burgers are too moist they will fall in the grill.

This is my favorite burger recipe (It's a slightly modified Rachel Ray recipe):
1 lb ground beef
4 shakes worchestire sauce
1/2 medium spanish onion
dash of salt and pepper
one pinch allspice (sounds odd, but it's delicious)

Combine ingredients in a large bowl. Form into patties. Grill to your liking. It's that easy. You can increase the recipe for a larger party (the above list makes 4 large burgers or 6 small/medium burgers). You can also form the patties around a very thin slice of cheddar cheese and grill. I enjoy them this way as well.

salt
pepper
onion
A1 Steak sauce
garlic powder

I like the Barefoot Contessa's technique of putting a pat of butter inside the burger and just seasoning with salt and pepper. It is so good!

I like chopping up fresh herbs, usually fresh basil and mixing them in with the beef. Steak seasoning is good, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, celery salt. Almost anything but the fresh herbs give it a nice moist kick.

I like to make my hamburgers half beef and half veal... and I add chopped onions, cumin, parsley, salt and pepper. Sometimes I add cubed cheese (any kind that I have on hand).

Chopped onions takes away the bad smell and taste that cooked meat has... and it makes it tastier (its the secret to most kebabs).

Mix with what you would put in your meatloaf. We call them meatloaf burgers. My kids love them!
