If I cut a hole in some pound cake and fry it, will I have a doughnut?!

Question:

If I cut a hole in some pound cake and fry it, will I have a doughnut?

Answers:
"Cake" type donuts are made with a batter, not already made cake. No, you won't get a donut, you'll get a crispy pound cake. It might be good, though.

Doughnuts are made with raw dough.

You'll have a deep fried cake of less then a pound.

Personally I think that mostly you'll just get a mess, but go for it you never know it might be good. I would pour hot fudge sauce over it after though. Who knows? someone had to be the first to deepfry a Mars Bar and apparently they are to die for!
